Really Good!

Sheila May 9, 2026

My favorite is in the summer time, doing Japanese Zaru Soba. Cooked Buckwheat Noodles, rinsed well in Cold water before adding a bowl of broth on the side to dip the noodles before each mothful. Chopped up Toasted Nori and Sesame Seeds or Furikake is Good too as well as some Shredded Daikon. Tuna, or Bonito...Yum!

Delicious, versatile, quality product/brand

HCDG January 10, 2026

Excellent quality, as with all the Mizkan products and convenient. Perfect flavor for soup base, noodles, rice or or adding as a finishing seasoning to already prepared food, like a soy. I consider it a mild fish sauce, but with extra flavors already in it. Not overly fishy, to me, even though there's a lot of fish in it and the ginger is mild and blends in nicely (not noticeably ginger flavored). Love it. From the bottle: Soy sauce (water, wheat, soybean, salt), sugar, water, tuna broth (water, dried skipjack tuna), salt, scallop extract (scallop extract, salt), distilled vinegar, garlic, dried sardine %26 anchovy extract, ginger.

I absolutely love this stuff! So flavorful %26 a perfect replacement for the flavor packs that come with ramen. A couple tablespoons usually does the trick.

Very tasty

It is great for udon or somen noodles. It is a little bit sweeter, It's more like Kansai style but add a bit of soy sauce, very tasty.

SSJ (Smoked Sausage Juice)

E August 4, 2025

I got this because it seemed like the same thing as their Ramen Broth Concentrate but with a slightly different flavor. I haven't tried that one, but I figured I may as try this one first, and if it were good enough, I could come back to that later. In my first taste test, I was trying to find how to describe it. I was thinking that if you imagine someone trying to make a grilled polish sausage as a liquid, and in the process, they added soy sauce, then you would be close to picturing this flavor. Later testing it again, I realized this tastes like the juice inside a can of Smoked Vienna Sausages. Finally, to finalize my analysis, I made my noodles and tasted them in this broth. I was right and it's terrible. I recently realized I don't like sausages in my noodles, and this broth tastes like smoked sausages, making it a waste for me, so much that I can't justify buying the Ramen version because it'll probably taste the same. When I explained this as the Vienna Sausage Juice to someone else, they said that sounded good in noodles, but this is definitely not for me.

this is not good as a soup base this probably would have to work as some cooking base because I don't like the taste
