i recommend this product. I used powdered whole milk and water in the reconstitution of the egg crystals.I enjoyed my my sausage, egg, cheese and Rotel breakfast burritos
I love Mountain Essentials Whole Egg Crystals. Eggs are one of the healthiest foods. I add this to my salads, sandwiches, etc. for extra protein %26 all the health benefits of eggs. I also add it to all my cats' real food meals, since cats aren't supposed to eat raw eggs like my dogs can. It's faster %26 easier than scrambled or chopped up boiled eggs for my cats.
Actually I like the ease of preparation,no messy egg yolks and shells. Wouldn't know they weren't fresh if you didn't cook them. Like the small size 19 eggs in bag. Easy to transport and store instead of %2310 can.
Makes wonderful tasting scrambled eggs and omelets. More expensive than fresh eggs, but comes in handy and is worth the price if you don't have access to a refrigerator.
We already had freeze dried Mountain House Biscuits and Gravy on our menu but it just wasn't right. We added these eggs and it made a perfect breakfast. For our backpacking trip we put the powder in ziplock bags and when it was time to cook added water to the bag. Dropped the bag in boiling water and they cooked up great! Also cook up well in a skillet.
Awesome way to save money. I never seem to use fresh eggs, quick enough. I can now use eggs at my convenience. They are so easy to cook.
I liked this product a lot it can stay on shelf a long time and I grew up on items like this when I was younger thanks Walmart .
I won't lie, not as good as fresh eggs; but in a pinch, they'll serve the purpose. If you can't keep fresh eggs for some reason, or wish to keep a bag in the pantry for emergencies, this is a good product. My only advice would be to use milk or half-and-half cream for scrambled eggs; that will give the eggs a lighter, smoother texture -- especially if you have to cook in a microwave.
I haven't used this yet so I can't discuss the actual quality. it's packaged well and it was undamaged. We buy eggs from local farmers, but in the fall and winter they become scarce. We got this as an egg replacement for that time period. I'll be happy to report my thoughts after we have actually used them.
Know before you buy from Wal Mart that this food product in a pouch will likey be shipped via FEDEX in a paper bag like mine was. FEDEX will throw heavy items on it and it will arrive broken open. No easy way to get a refund unless I want to clean up and send the egg powder back to Wal Mart. One careless action on the part of Wal Mart leads to a world of problems for the customer. Wal Mart could care less. You would think the manufacturer who they fufill this item for would hold them to a higher standard of care but they don't. Wal Mart, FedEx and Safe Castle could care less if the item arrives damaged. It's all about the money. At least Amazon will refund without requiring you to sweep up and return the egg powder.
