I love having this! I bought a nice turkey breast and roasted it. I put it in the fridge overnight so it was nicely firm for slicing. The next day I sliced it up and it turned out just great! It was so delicious, seasoned with my own favorite seasonings! The blade is very sharp (be careful not to touch it!!) and the meat sliced off in perfect slices. I am so glad I got this!!
The photos show a different handle arrangement for holding the meat in place as you slice. I chose this over other options because of this feature. What I got was not what was in the photos. I was not pleased when I unpacked the slicer. i decided to give it a chance and found what I got worked. I still think not as well as the one in the photo. I appreciate that the slice thickness control is graduated. I am impressed by the power output to the blade. After using it. I'm keeping it. Also, a re-do is too much of a hassle.
item was listed as having a Large, detachable 8.7" hardened stainless steel serrated blade handles a wide range of food sizes and shapes the blade is 7.5 Die cast aluminum food press this piece is plastic not what I wanted
I just received my slicer, so have not used it yet. I bought it mainly for purpose of slicing meat to make jerky on my Traeger. I'm sure it'll work fine, and the price was the deciding factor for me. BUT.........the description AND photos are for the FS-250 NOT the FS-200. I was pretty excited to get a 8.7" blade for that price, instead the FS-200 only has a 7.5". And the slide mechanism is totally different between the 200
Nesco FS-200 Food Slicer This product is not as described. The food press is not aluminum as in the description. It is plastic and very flimsy Pros: Lightweight Easy to disassemble for cleaning Stainless steel blade Blade removes for cleaning Cons: Motor is noisy Plastic food press Does not meet our needs. We will be returning it. The biggest issue was that it was not as described. The plastic food press does not allow for the even pressure needed to make even slices because it bends. We tested this product on a small store-bought ham.
Bought this slicer to occasionally slice pastrami and corned beer deli thin. Works OK but shuttle that carries the meat back and forth is flimsy and the slicer will only process meat that is 5-6 inches wide. Additionally, the slicer leaves a bit of uncut meat at the bottom of the slice creating a tail on the underside of the main meat requiring it to be trimmed after 6-7 slices. However, you can get relatively thin slices with chilled meat. Cheap alternative to professional slicer and not usable for commercial applications but works for occasional home use. Would probably not purchase again.
Pros: Blade, and slide detach easily for cleaning. Price Light Compact Cons: Blade rotation, motor spin (RPM) very slowly, so with a small item (in this case I was trying to slice an Iberico Aged Ham (about 2" thick) on 0.5 (thinnest setting), and the blade would just spin the ham off of the tray. Get what you pay for.
Not like the picture. I specifically ordered this one because the listing it said stainless steel meat sliding tray. It's plastic and flimsy too. Spend a little more money and bet a better quality one. I'm returning this one and getting a Cuisinart Kitchen Pro. It got really great reviews
this one pictured isnt the one that arrived, you recieve the 200 model with the plastic tray and guard where as this picture is the 250 model
This is not what I ordered, they shipped me a cheep version of the one I ordered, I have one just like this it cost me 39 dollars at Walmart.
