Hands down the best Japanese rice out there. It's the Cadillac of medium grain white rice and it pairs well with any Asian style dish. It has a fluffy texture and is both kosher and gluten-free. I've tried other similar brands but this one is uniquely tender and fluffy, once fully cooked, in a way that other are not. This works best in a rice cooker and I would suggest rinsing the rice pror to cooking. If you're a bit of a rice snob like me, then this might be the ideal rice for you.
Resembling pearls in appearance, this rice is rich in natural starches. When cooked as plain rice, it offers a soft, smooth texture with just the right balance of stickiness and elasticity; when simmered into porridge, it yields a thick, luscious base where the flavors meld together in perfect harmony. It boasts exceptional heat and moisture retention—even after cooling, the grains do not harden or dry out, but instead consistently maintain that delightful, springy chewiness.
I am from Japan, so I am very picky about rice. But it is difficult to buy rice at a reasonable price in a convenient way in the USA. But I found a solution here. This Nishiki Rice is great for the value. Close enough to home. It does not stay as moist as home-grown ones the next day though. But you just need to add a little water and warm it up in the microwave. (I hope it will help.)
This rice never fails me. Don't rinse it, only soak in slightly more water than directed for 8 minutes. Bring to a boil GENTLY then simmer at a tremble for 20 minutes. Love the texture, taste, easy to eat with chopsticks or fork.
before you boil this type of rice, soak in water for 30 mins, then cook! this type of brand is the best for rice! You would love to eat the rice alone with how good it is ! the best brand for sure
The delivery person was very kind and brought the package all the way up my steps and left the package by my door. He was very kind and I wish he was always able to deliver my orders!!!
Highest quality short/medium grain white rice you can get at a good price. Haven't ever found any impurities, and have had encountered ~32 broken grains over the last 7 years of consuming this brand.
This rice cooks perfectly in my rice cooker and is very versatile. I use it for Asian dishes but also for gumbo. Definitely a pantry staple.
I have eaten this American grown rice for about twenty years. I'm hooked on it! Grown in the mountains of California.
There's nothing wrong with the rice… it's Walmart's delivery drivers who cannot dry properly! They are unable to read plain English!!!
