I hemmed and hawed over buying this for a few weeks. I kept reading how amazing it was, but equally fragile and breaks easily. I pulled the trigger because after reading a plethora of reviews, I think I know what people are doing wrong. If you tighten it on your head, you should loosen it before removing it. That will eliminate the stress on the side straps. I've had mine for two weeks and let my youngest (8 yrs old) play numerous times and it's been great. PRO: The counter-weight on the back helps a ton. The fit is so much more snug and the the dial on the back makes it easier to go from big head (e.g. dad) to little head (e.g. daughter) with ease. CON: Continuously attempts to charge the head unit even when head unit is fully charged. The Oculus folks say "Leaving your Quest 2 or Quest on the charger after it has been fully charged can reduce the overall battery life over time" so I unplug the extra pack until my head unit is down to 75% or so. MISC: If you haven't already, buy a Silicone Cover as the stock head pad is turrrrible. MISC2: If you don't buy this Elite Strap, I strongly suggest something that provides a counter weight on the back to balance the weight of the Oculus on your head.
This is a must-have accessory for the Oculus Quest 2. The fit is perfect, comfortable, and balanced. The extra weight of the battery adds the right amount of counterbalance to the main unit. While I havent yet run the battery all the way down, the extended battery life is considerable. I would guess that it does double the battery life as advertised. The case is a great place to store the unit when not in use. It is a quality build, with very nice finishes. Oculus, however, missed the mark somewhat by not form-fitting the space for the controllers. They just lay randomly in their place, but occasionally will turn on the unit when the buttons are triggered. I would guess this will run down the battery at some point. Still, this is a great accessory. A bit pricey, but Im very satisfied with the purchase.
After having one Oculus get exposed to the sun, I knew I needed a light proof storage case for the new one. This case is compact and the oculus, controllers, and power cord/plug fit in snugly. I have the comfort strap and extended battery and it fits with no issues, but you’re not getting much else into this sucker!
I love that it extends the battery life, its a little heavy on your head and you have to have it tight to stay in place, which is not comfortable, but due to battery life I give it 5 stars
I was looking for one of these for awhile and I just happened to click on Walmarts ad for it for 200.00 and I got lucky and it was the regular 129.99. Ordered it 4 or 5 days ago and it was delivered today, so happy!
Works great and with the battery you can play a lot longer. Much more comfortable than the standard.
almost required if you own a quest 2 and play it regularly. Most comfortable VR headset I've worn to date with this thing added
Great battery life extension but like many others there was a crack within 2 weeks of attaching and not even daily use. Returned to store and hoping to get two from the “new batch”
After a few months of using this, the head strap got brittle and broke. Of course I got a protection plan for the Oculus, not the accessories. The battery works and the case is nice, just the strap itself broke.
The only thing good about this is the case. My headstrap broke already and I am trying to get a refund. I treated my headstrap with extreme delicacy. Never heard a break
