My memory has been horrible lately. Groping for words in the middle of a sentence, opening the fridge and thinking, "What did I want in here?" And not just once or twice a week; more than a dozen times a day. I was getting desperate. Neurons were just not connecting. Neurotransmitters not carrying the messages.I asked my sister, an herbalist if she could recommend anything, and she suggested the Brahmi. I've been totally amazed. The groping for words is almost gone, and when it happens, the word I wanted comes pretty quickly. Listeners are not patiently tapping their fingers waiting for me. Opening the fridge or going to get something from another room--no problem. I'm remembering what I wanted and if a distracting thought has intervened, I pause, and "Oh, yeah. That was it." I'm remembering right away and not having to retrace my steps back to where I was to jog my memory.I was talking to a friend to whom I'd recommended it and she also benefitted--she felt that when she was missing a word, that the Brahmi actually reduced the anxiety around not remembering which allowed the needed word to surface more easily. That made sense to me.At any rate, I'm taking 1/4 teaspoon twice a day in some milk and it's had an amazing effect on my mental functioning. Amen. Thank goodness.
