I can only convey the opinions of the birds. They all love this product; from the large ravens, down to the tiny bushtits and pygmy nuthatchs. The woodpeckers are constant diners. This is the most popular (with all the birds) brand of suet that I've seen.

Winter bird feeding is always fun to pass the slow times of winter. Birds like chickadiddles and of course Woodpeckers of all types come for this (as do the @$%@%23%23$% squirrels) but I put it in a wire barrier and the birds can get at this stuff. One packet will last for about a week, and like to think that putting this out for the little creepers helps them thru the cold nights. So far the food is fresh and viable....and as cheap as grocer suet which has gotten out of hand on expense.

this suet is perfect for winter feeding. its a little bit softer than what I use in springtime. Some other kinds of suet freeze so solid in very cold weather the birds can't enjoy it..This surt has been enjoyed by 4 different kinds of wooderpeckers, nuthatches,chickadees and cardinals at my bird feeder.The sunflower seeds in the suet is definitely a plus to getting different species to visit my feeders. I feel this is a fair price for the quality of the product.

Great product we like that it comes in a pack of eight. During the super cold temperatures, the birds go through a cake in just a few days. It helps to have eight to last for a while. The songbirds and woodpeckers are the most frequent birds we see eating.

I have three bird feeders right outside my dining room window so that my kitties can keep an eye on the birdies and give them something to do besides wander around the house. The birds will love this food. They would rather have that I think then the birdseed.

I like feeding the birds. It was a favorite hobby of my father that I continued after he died. I get quite a mixture of birds and my dog loves watching them out the window while they feed. This suet is suitable for all birds all year round. It does not melt in the hot summer heat like other brands. It is a real favorite of a huge woodpecker that lives in my tree next to the bird feeders. The only complaint I do have is the high price of suet now. For years it cost me $6.99 for 10 cakes. Now, you get 8 cakes for $9.99. I have cut back on the suet cakes to make them last longer.

This melts. Best used in colder months or from maybe the freezer. The birds aren't taking to this one like they do the no melt. I don't want to return it or anything but it will have to be used up at some point. Maybe I will take it to the woods out back of the person across the streets house if they allow me to.

Our birds aren't eating it, including woodpeckers. Didn't eat it during migration at the end of last summer, and not eating it this winter. They've eaten other suets in previous years. The packaging doesn't say "no melt," but is it? They haven't liked the no-melt kind in the past so I don't want that version.

This USE to be a nice suet bar--however someone (who doesnt understand birds or quality) changed the bar.. It now has a layer of lard on one side, and the rest of the bar has fewer seeds incased in lard. . So sad, and I am surprised that Walmart would sell this.
