The cakes are so nice to feed the birds, especially the small woodpeckers! They are all over the cakes and really go thru them in the winter. I cut the plastic indoors and then I can unwrap the cake and refill the holder outside. The only complaint is that they are a little greasy so take a paper towel along. The price is great as these have about doubled in cost over the last two or three years, plus I can get them delivered!

We have a big variety of birds that visit our yard due to a water feature. Some birds come to the porch to eat, and we've found a place to hang suet cakes that is squirrel-proof. Good value for the multi-pack box compared to buying them individually through any other vendor.

I only use peanut suet cakes, because that's what the birds like. This brand has the approval of the birds in my yard-finches, woodpeckers, buntings and many more. They eat about one per day, cheeking little guys. I like that these suet cakes do not have a greasy back. They are very dry to the touch and everything is gone, no mess.

This seemed to be decent quality suet from the look of it's appearance. There's no way to taste and confirm but everything appears to be similar to other suet cakes we've purchased. These were very affordable and attracted both Hairy and Downy woodpeckers to our back deck area which was very exciting.

Anyone notice how the cakes don't actually fill the plastic holders anymore? 11oz? The box they come in can actually hold one more cake. I guess it's not just this product but many now same price or more for less. Gotta read the fine print these days. Woodpeckers still love the stuff of course. Imagine it's still the same formula.

One of the boxes of suet was severely damaged as was the contents. All but two of the packages was dented and the suet broken. They are usable but not ideal. I didn't return them because I felt it was more trouble than it was worth. If these had been on the shelf in a Walmart they would have been removed as not suitable for sale.

Many different birds in my area like this suet. It is also priced much lower than other suet. Unfortunately, I will not purchase it again. What falls to the ground while birds are eating becomes a hard crusty layer that suffocates the grass and sticks to the gound forming a hard seal that nothing can get through. I had to scrape it off of the bare ground and rake away clumps of dead grass from under my feeder. I caution anyone that has their feeder in the grass if they are planning on using this suet.

I have used "regular" suet for years. Thought this peanut blend would be enjoyed by the birds. But it CRUMBLES - if in the suet holder, it falls to the ground as birds peck at it. I finally laid suet in the flat feeder and most of it was eaten quickly by a massive flock of starlings. I wont buy this type of suet again. too messy.

I was disappointed in this variety of Pennington Suet. Looked like a slab of peanut butter. Not sure what was used to bind the contents in the container. Didn't appear hearty. I understand the current economy and the cost of ingredients. This product was subpar.

The birds in my yard will pretty much eat anything or maybe different birds come. But when I put this out. It sat there untouched for a few days. It wasn't until the day that I didn't get to fill the tube feeder, they went to the suet feeder. Normally, I make my own or I've bought a different flavor from the same brand. Which are always a big hit and I get 5-6 birds trying to get in it at once. But all 5 or 6 packages were the same result. I don't remember the squares being so dry. Mine were very dry. After seeing no birds eating it. I took one and smashed it up and added natural no salt peanut butter with some oatmeal and black sunflower seeds. Then I froze it to make it stick together in a square. But yeah, the birds really didn't like this, at all
