Searched for an automatic door for my chickens so when we were away from the farm it would let the chickens out in the morning and close the door at night. came home to many times to a possum in the coop and unalived chickens or eggs cracked open. All the online diy instructions were way to costly and complicated, and ready to go doors required dangerous household current and/or were entirely out of our budget, until I came across this door. For the price I didn't expect much, but was surprised at the quality. It's powered by AA batteries and is built light weight so mounting it properly is important for it to function properly. If you mount it with the frame twisted it's going to bind up. Don't ask me how I know. once it was mounted properly it has been operating flawlessly for several months now. if something happened to it now I'd simply reorder another. I did build a protective cover for it out of scraps of light gauge metal for protection.

Works great with timer and manually it just Doesn’t have a sensor to stop door if chicken gets in door while closing ? I thought it did but I will have to double check the item better .

no assembly, other than installing the batteries. it was as pictured, although i thought it might be a little thicker and sturdier material. it works perfectly, my hens adjusted quickly to using it.

works perfectly. weve had it for about 6 months now and still on the first set of batteries. Great materials and very easy to use after very easy installation

Does not work in cold climate. Door is smaller than expected and although the chickens will use it to exit the coop they so far will not go back in through it, it is too small. RR, Black sex link, Barred Rock hens, 5 months old and still growing but not big breeds. Once the temps hit 30 it doesn’t open. Also there is a vented line down the middle which is not good unless you have the door in an area away from the rest of the space. Not useful for us.

NOT WEATHER PROOF! One rain and this display no longer works and now it's 3-4 hours off time and I can't change it back! Worthless piece of junk and of course the return window is so short that I can't return it even though I only had it installed for 5 days.

Arrived broken. Buttons will not function. The coop door had clearly been used before and was broken.

This didn't last three months before the screen went invisible so you can't see the numbers to change the times. Also the gear that opens and closes the door slips so it only opens and closes the door sometimes, which defeats the entire purpose of this door.
