I have installed this chicken coop door for about one month, and it makes my life so much easier! It opens and closes very smoothly, keeping my hens safe from dangerous animals at night. The automatic timer feature is really a game-changer, allowing me to set it and forget it. Highly recommend for any backyard chicken keeper!
Before this purchase, I was employed as a part-time chicken door operator. The hours were terrible. Every morning and evening, regardless of weather, mood, or caffeine levels, I was expected to report for duty. Now the door handles everything automatically. The chickens come and go on schedule, the solar panel keeps it powered, and the whole system works with a level of professionalism rarely seen in poultry management. Five stars. I got promoted from chicken butler to chicken supervisor.
Easy installation. So far, it's holding up great. Love my chickens no longer have to wait for me to open the door in the morning.
I saw this automatic coop door and decided to buy it and hoped it works as described. When we go on vacation I have someone to come every day to feed my chickens but can't ask them to come again at dusk to lock them up so I risk predators getting into the coop. We installed this door which was easy then set it to close at dark. We waited patiently as the sun went down and then witnessed the door close itself. Wow! So cool, I love it and hope it lasts!
The door comes complete and so far seems to have more features that a chicken run brand solar door that quit working after about one year
I've owned several of these "automatic" doors for our chickens and they have not been of a lasting quality. Not with this one. The door is ONE piece. Just cut out the hole and screw this thing on. Long wire for the solar panel, which should be mounted outside (direct or indirect sunlight). I would highly recommend this product!

so far so good opens and shuts on time chickens seem happy and door was very easy to install
Works great in the summer. In Michigan winter however, not so great. Have had many days of having to pry it open to free my birds because a bit of water got in and froze it shut.
