Best tv matching strip in the business

In order for the lights to sync with sound and video, you must have a sync box and it doesn't come with the light strips.

When you explain to someone you spent over $500 to light the back of your TV there's a bit of a look you get that clearly makes them question your judgment. However I've spent the past few months investing in my entertainment area and the Hue light strip has been a terrific addition! Very immersive and not distracting, at least when you run the brightness lower. I run it at about 40% on the extreme setting. The light strip is also clearly made with high quality products. But the price really is way too high for a strip of lights for most people.

Really great addition to my Hue TV set up. The fact that it can have different areas of light is pretty cool and does a good job of mimicking the colors on the TV. I took off 1-star because of the app. I wish there was a way independently adjust the brightness of lights within the zone. I have 3 play bars that sit below the tv and they are much brighter than the gradient strip and drowns out the color being emitted from it.

I bought one of these on the initial release. It was broken out the gates. One side had a yellow spot that didn't change colors with the rest. Then 8 months later, it began flickering and ultimately died within 3 days. I then go to replace it and the return/exchange process is absolutely horrible. Instead of being able to simply send me a replacement, I have to jump through hoops with this 800 number who took several calls before they actually sent me a return label to send the broken product back. Now I am without the light for god knows how long. Be better.

I really like it. The colors are accurate. I didn't experience any delays. Can adjust the brightness and intensity. My gripe is that not only does it not wrap around the bottom of TV, the sides stop 8 inches from the bottom of the TV! This is very much a high end novelty item but if you have it to spend I'd recommend it.

Saw a video review online where the reviewer said "all you need is the sync box and the light strip. This was incorrect. Begrudgingly we bought the THIRD item required, the Hub. After getting everything set up, we tried watching a colorful animated film to really get a feel for the lights, and, it didn't work. After spending 30 minutes going through the available material, we got tired of messing with it, and decided to just play the movie. About 20 minutes INTO the movie, the lights started working. For a few days, the gradient light strip seemed to workwell enough. Never once did they "just work as intended". We were always fighting with the app. Our home network worked just fine w/ EVERYTHING else. And now, the sync function doesn't work at all. We can set one color for the light strip.

Stunning colors and reaction time. Unlike so many lightstrips, this one looks elegant and cool, I would like to be able to position it in the room other than behind the TV itself. It would be cool to set it in front straight or mount it behind the tv on the wall. Maybe in an update.

Wow! I'm blown away with how awesome this transforms my tv viewing into an immersive experience! Since not going to movie theaters these days, I decided to build onto my home theater and this was the final piece to the puzzle. I already had surround sound but was intrigued by surround lighting. Now it's hard to watch a tv without a Play Gradient Lightstrip, it just doesn't look right. The ease of setting up through the app was a plus and partnering it with my existing Hue bulbs gave me that full immersion feeling I was looking for. I am so glad I was able to add this to my system! Side note: The lightstrip doesn't go around the bottom of the TV so I added two Play Lightbars to the bottom of the TV to fill the bottom darkness. The center channel speaker separates them or I would have gotten three.
