Will be great during vacation season to remotely turn lights on & off randomly. Installs easily with directions supplied. One note either I missed or was not included: in order to have the access while away from your WiFi and use the Hue app directly through cellular access you must open an account at the Phillips website or the Cellular- Internet won't function. So during setup do that at the same time! Phillips lighting has always made nice products and this is Apple approved for Apple HomeKit solution.
Works great with Apple HomeKit. Happy to have this lower price starter kit as I was not interested in colored lights.
Easy setup and works flawlessly being controlled by both the Hue app and by Google Home.
Product was waiting for me to pick up...Great Item works with Amazon Echo.
Cheapest price I've found so far. Works great easy-to-use and set up.
Fairly easy to set up with the HUE App. Once set up, it is easy to use the HUE App to control the lights and easy to create "Routines" to control the lights based on times of day or based on your location relative to your house. (e.g. turn on lights within a certain distance from your house based on your phone's GPS position). It is also compatible with Apple's Homekit, which uses Apple's built in Home App to control accessories like the HUE lights. Using the Home App I had no trouble setting up the controls for the HUE lights.
A great way to save energy and be modernized, would like to explore more
I enjoy using hue and light.
I purchased this about three weeks ago it works well. The lights are 80's yellow but a quick purchase of the upgraded more white option bulb and things are great. Works well with my Amazon Dot. My wife thinks I am obsessed but I think they give more lighting options so they are well worth it.
Once the starter kit is set up and programmed to a schedule (which takes some interest & understanding of tech applications), the system behaves as expected and can easily be controlled with dimming features from the Hue App on a mobile phone. The cost of the starter kit and the individual bulbs to expand the kit are higher priced, but once installed, can create a mood to your liking. I focused on setting up the white starter kit and separately purchased 2 white ambiance and one color bulbs for my family room where we spend most time and near the hub. The color bulb is being used on the floor in an up light and the white bulbs in lamps around the room on tables.
