I keep a bowl of Amish Friendship starter. I've made pizza dough, calzones, mini-pizzas, brioche, fruit breads, cinnamon bread, etc.. This flour is so soft that it does not really need to be sifted. But, sift if you must- I do. Pillsbury has always made quality flours and this is the best one for bread I use. A few whip with a whisk and it's as good as sifted. This flour has made the best breads and goodies. It also has given my starter a better food for the yeast to feed off- and, the smell of the starter is divine. It gave it the sourdough smell and I love sourdough bread. I could live my life on the bread made with this flour; a chunk of goat cheese and olive oil to dip. That's my quality from Pillsbury.
The 2-five pound bags of flour arrived undamaged and in perfect condition. Some say it doesn't matter if you use all purpose flour or bread flour, but I baked bread with this flour last night and it turned out better than the bread I baked with a.p. flour.
High quality flour for making home make artisan bread, rolls, pizza, cinnamon rolls Use both both commercial yeast and sourdough! Also great for scones!
Walmart has truly stepped up, i received the flour with an expiration date of 10/21 which is great and they were perfectly packed, the delivery date was better than Amazon. Thank you walmart and your staff. To All employees stay safe and God Bless you.
Made bread using this.....oh my ......blankety soft!
Excellent bread flour. Do not buy the off brands if you really plan to make bread. I use the Walmart off brand for my other baking but not worth skimping if you want to make great pizza dough, bread crumbs and sourdough.
Choose this brands flour if you need something to rise like pizza dough, I normally go with the all purpose flour. Other brands will be varied in how well they will rise and this one will not disappoint after forgetting which flours werent that great I just always choose this brand, and golds isnt that great on rising.
The product is fine. I have a suggestion for packaging and shipping. Heavy items contained in paper wrapper should be wrapped in clear wrap to prevent tearing or bursting open. One 5-lb bag of flour was split open and flour spilled out. It's still usable, and I'm not asking for a replacement or refund, just making a suggestion for future shipments of this kind.
Don't be afraid to bake your own bread! It is great fun. Just use flour designed for bread and enjoy the flavor and aroma of your own home baked bread.
Both bags of floor were placed in box with no protection along with other items I ordered that was shipped in same box. When I opened the door to pick up the box that was delivered, I knew before opening the box that the flour packaging had been damaged prior to carrying the box inside home an opening it because there was flour all over the concrete porch underneath the shipping box. Upon opening the box once inside home, both flour bags were busted open and there was flour everywhere all inside the box and all over the other items purchased inside of box. took me about 20 minutes to clean up the mess, whereas the flour had to be thrown away because it had been ripped open and was damage while in transit.
