It took two or three days to deliver this item, and given the holiday season volume, I expected that. There was a great deal at my local grocery store for fresh pineapples for $0.77. I bought 3 of them the first day and carved one of them and realized that this one pineapple had the same amount as 3 to 5 cans of it which sell for about $2.25 each. So, I went back on Christmas Eve and bought 12 more of them. Assuming that each pineapple produces 4 cans @ $2.25 each, my purchase of 15 fresh pineapples are worth about $140 of the canned product. And, I only paid $11 for 15 pineapples. So, I have all of these pineapples that needed to be carved and cored and de-seeded. I tried doing it the hard way, but getting the seeds out is way too hard. So, I bought this corer-slicer. I just now tried it out, and it worked in about 1 minute. It's a little effort to push it in while turning it, but it's not that bad. Once you push it all the way that it will go, it stops when it hits bottom. Then, you pull it out. The result is a helix of pineapple slices ready for immediate use or for storage. There have been critics that say that a lot is wasted on the sides because the blade should be a larger diameter. This blade is 3.25 inches diameter. The bottom of my pineapple measures about 5.25 inches. However, the top diameter is much smaller. Because of the oval shape, this 3.25 inch blade seems to do the best job. As a matter of fact, I just looked inside the cored pineapple that I just did, and the rest of it on the sides are where the seeds begin. So, this tool got the best of the fruit and bypassed all of the seeds. This is a great product for the price, and I would buy it again.
I've only used it once since I just purchased it. It was easy to use, easy to clean. I took the advice of another customer to buy a pineapple that sits up straight and doesn't lean. That is very good advice. Also google how to choose the right pineapple as far as ripe, freshness, etc. I like my core and slicer, I would recommend it.
I had never cored a pineapple in my life! I purchased this, and love the sturdy, quality, solid feel! It comes with instructions that made the process easy! Highly recommend!!!
It works great, better than I expected. The only problem I had was with mis-shaped pineapples. I'll be careful to pick out pineapples that are not leaning to one side in the future.
This was a great item. I would definitely recommend it. It's very efficient and very sharp. I use it often. I love the design of the top. It makes it easy to find amongst other utensils.
i cut my own pineapple, for the first time, with this tool in under 4 minutes. so easy and works as expected. yum.
I wish I had known years ago that it was so easy to get the good part of the pineapple with such little effort.
I didn't ordered this item but the designed is👌 very good.
Easy to use, this was fun
the core is a little hard to get out unless you use another utensil to push it out , i dont know if it was the pineapple or the tool, but the pineapple came out a little mushy, but other than that it was easy to use
