Presto 06006 Kitchen Kettle Multi-Cooker and Steamer

Great for 1 or 2 people, for a family get it's big brother, both work great. This is my 4th one, my 3 Exs got the other 3. I 'm 71 %26 I'm keeping this one, no more women. Do I need to say anymore about how much I think about this one or its big brother.

LOVE IT. IT IS CERAMIC COATED SO NO WORRY ABOUT TOXIC COATINGS. I COOK ON MY BATHROOM COUNTER SO IT IS COMPACT AND EASY TO STORE. BE CAREFUL WITH THE PLUG SYSTEM. MY LAST ONE RUSTED BECAUSE OF ACCIDENTAL WATER EXPOSURE.

If there is a better one out there, I have not seen it. I got this one because my old one needed a part and it was the same cost to get a new one on-line as it was to replace the old part. A Presto parts representative is the person who told me to buy this on-line at Walmart instead of ordering a new part. It's not just a deep-fryer, it does multiple tasks. Some of the other deep-fryers I looked at had lids on them that were as thin as plastic coffee can lids. I like the lid on this one. It is durable, but you don't use it while deep-frying. I thought a product of this quality would have cost a lot more than I paid for it. So far, I've only used it for deep-frying but it also does blanching of vegetables and other things. I did not know what blanching was until I read the owner's manual. It does a wonderful job deep-frying. I love the lift-out pan. I would not want to pick out pieces individually with a utensil like you have to do with some small deep-fryers. My mom has a small (pick out the pieces, no basket) deep-fryer and she thought this was to big for me and my girlfriend, but I believe it is the perfect size. Presto should include lock-washers for the screw on handles and legs because they warn you that they can become loose over time and need to be tightened. No problem, just buy 6 small lock-washers separately- they are inexpensive. The lock-washers will keep the legs and handles tightly fastened. The electrical attachment is magnetically attached and will break free instantly with slight pressure on the cord, which will prevent someone from turning over the product and frying themselves with hot oil in the event they get tangled in the cord.

I bought two because I actually use two at a time often. I gave my grandson one to use in his college apartment because it makes it easy for him to prepare meals. I purchased a couple more as Christmas gifts. This cooker is extremely versital and is great for camping if you have electricity at your campsite. It's the only pot you need to bring. It is the the most useful cooking appliance I have ever purchased. I use it everyday.

I'll try to add all the info that I couldn't find before I bought this item. Let me get this out of the way first, I love it. For deep frying, 9 cups of oil is at the fill line. Maintained 400°F very good. I like the adjustable temperature. I will soon use it for chili. Would be great for soups, stews, chicken and dumplings etc. you get the idea. The glass lid will come in handy. Total usable capacity is about 1 gallon. One gallon will fill to between an inch and an inch and a half from the rim. Clean up was so easy. I used some Dawn and a sponge then rinsed it off. The same for the aluminum basket. I am sure the dishwasher would do great. Next time it will probably be in the dishwasher but not this time. I checked and tightened all the screws. I now have a couple of Fry Daddy's that I may never use again.

After trying different "home countertop fryers" and sending them back or taking back to the store I ordered the Presto "home countertop fryer" because it was small enough for 2 ppl, it really exceeded my expectations. I didn't have to put anything together, just plug it in. So far I've cooked fish, shrimp, fries, more shrimp. It's nonstick but also has a basket. The only thing I had an issue with in the beginning is that the cord to the pan kept coming off. Out of all the fryers I tried they all had the same issue

Big enough for a dozen wings, 4 chicken thighs, lots of fries. not all at same time of course. I like this a lot better than the square one this replaced. its fully immersable for easy, complete cleaning. Nice glass lid for storing oil for next time.

Sometimes a deep frier is needed. There are certain foods that just taste better fried. This bad boy packs a punch and does the trick. I have made chicken tenders for my young children, and they love them. The frier is the secret. The temperature knob makes sure the oil stays heated. The key is to not overload it. I put four tenders at a time in the previously mentioned meal for my kids. Worked like a champ. I may have opted for one a tad bigger, but it is not a deal killer.

I bought this presto kitchen kettle via pickup and delivery around a week ago, and had set the package aside until I remembered to opened the box today, but as I was opening the package, I found that the lid had a huge dent in it. Obviously this product needs a good lid in order to function as intended, and I can already imagine what will happen if I used a lid with a dent. I opened the entire package very carefully just in case something was broken and I needed to repackage it, and to my dismay, there really was something broken. I didn't finish opening the package so I don't know if anything else is broken but I have repackaged everything after I discovered the broken lid. I want to return it but I'm not sure how to go about it because this was bought via pickup and delivery (Walmart Grocery) around a week ago.

It takes 20 minutes to heat up and be careful of tapping the metal basket too hard (the handle may pop off) But other than that it is a great fryer. I have used it a few times and I am totally happy with it. It is easy to use and to clean. Food comes out good every time!
