We've been using the PUR Plus water filter replacements for years, and they've consistently worked great for our family. The difference in taste is noticeable right away—our tap water has a strong chlorine smell, and these filters completely remove that harsh taste and odor. The water tastes clean, fresh, and much more enjoyable to drink. I also appreciate that these filters are WQA certified to reduce lead and other harmful substances, including microplastics. It gives us extra peace of mind knowing we're not just improving the taste, but also reducing contaminants in our everyday drinking water. The filters last a good amount of time (about two months for us with regular use), which makes them a solid value. Installation is simple thanks to the LockFit design—you just click it into place and don't have to worry about unfiltered water mixing in. Overall, these have been reliable, easy to use, and effective. We plan to keep using them because they truly make a difference in both taste and confidence in our water quality.
Don't tighten too much or you'll have to wait 1 hr for it to fill up! just tighten enough to where its forced to go to the carbon filter! I promise it works! great filter, the small pur filter didn't remove dirt and microorganisms, but provided better quality tasting water-- this one does! 10/10
I like the fact that it makes me feel like my water is safer . Safer for drinking cooking and whatever else I feel like I need it for . It just gives me some peace of mind . It also makes the water taste better . There's no weird taste like you get with tap water
I have been using PUR filters for many years. I have the large pitcher and I love it. These PUR Plus filters also have lead reduction. The taste is great and it is simple to replace them. I will continue to buy PUR products as long as they make them.
Much better than older, shorter style. Water ran through those like it wasn't filtering anything. Takes a good while to pass through these, and the taste is better. We have heavily chlorinated water from our utility, and I don't smell or taste a trace of it with these filters.
I don't like that it takes a while to filter the water but otherwise it's a good filter for the pur brand. Sometimes I still find pieces of the charcoal layer in the reservoir when filling it even though I soaked the filter before using it just like the packaged said to.
I live in Vista and our water here is extremely hard. I used the Pur filter for years. It wasn't until recently that I tested my water. The water in Vista is so bad you can't even rinse your mouth out with it. Good Water is 0 to 199 ppm. The average for our water here in Vista is over 450 ppm. With the PUR filter it is still 390 to 420 ppm, which isn't good. 400 to 500 ppm is the US EPA maximum contaminant level allowed. With the local water being so bad it cannot remove enough things for it to be really good enough to drink. I use it for my coffee and cooking. So if you're looking for something that brings the water down to a healthy level. In my opinion, this isn't it. But that being said it is one of the best filters for a water pitchers that can be bought without spending big dollars. It removes more chemicals metals, %26 things than any other.
I mean, let's be honest, there's really no good reason. anybody should have to use water filters in the United States. But because local municipalities do not prioritize safe drinking water, we have to spend exorbitant amounts of money. So these make the water taste fine and they do filter very well. however, they're still expensive and they do not last 2 months. If the dispensing handle on the picture isn't always blinking, yellow or red, the product is out of stock. And every time they go on sale, they're out of stock. either that or whoever is pulling the order at the store, can't find it or won't find it. or most likely just doesn't care at all anyway because we know how Walmart is. And I say Walmart because I have an issue on every order. But as far as the filter goes, yeah it works. It is overpriced. there's just not many options.
We’ve used this water filter for years and never had an issue until buying this filter 12/21/25! It was incredibly slow, took 3 hours to filter less than half the pitcher! Tasted funny as well. Bought another replacement and no issue, I think we got a faulty filter but I won’t be repurchasing this filter!
