Excellent glucose tester/strips for the price.

StrangerInAStrangeLand March 2, 2014

I have used this meter twice a day for a couple of weeks now, and my readings are always around what they should be. I have checked it against my old Accu-Chek Nano meter on several occasions, and this meter is always within 2 or 3 numbers of the Accu-Chek. I have not had any error codes on any of the strips, as some have reported. So I would recommend this meter highly due to it's accuracy and cost savings on the test strips.

Small, portable and easy to use!

SF415 June 17, 2012

This system is so easy to use. It's small and portable to bring with you every day to monitor your levels. It's seems quite durable as I've dropped it several times and it still works like a charm. I've used other systems and this one by far was super easy! Others were pricey, where this was not. I would definitely recommend it.

Easy to Use

CBokay March 10, 2017

I was recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes and naturally I'm working on not getting diabetes 2. This meter helps keep me on track every day to learn which foods are okay for me to eat and which foods are not. It's very easy to use once you get the hang of it. Right now I feel like it's my friend.

Great basic glucometer!

RCinSF September 5, 2013

I have been diabetic for 20 years, but bought this for one of my dogs that was recently diagnosed, because the test strips are only $9 per 50 strips. Mine are $75!!! I compared it on myself with my Accu-Chek Aviva, and the Prime meter tested only 2 points lower. I ordered the control solution online, (There is a toll free # in your manual to order), to make sure it is working properly, and it is! Highly recommend you order the control solution to make sure your meter is working properly, and it is FREE! READ,READ, READ your manual FIRST, and there are numbers in your manual if you have any issues with the meter. Like other reviewers, the only downside is the placement of the slot for the test strips. It is located very low, and is awkward/hard to see, but tilting it up when you insert the test strip makes it easier. Highly recommend this meter and will probably use it for myself when my other one dies, as the test strips are so cheap! The Prime meter is great!

Thank God for Relion

Anonymous February 4, 2017

Relion is a super reliable, durable, dependable meter...it even holds up under teenager use. When we have compared it to other higher end name brands it is the same or even better. The price is the real hero though even though we have insurance we use relion EVERYTHING . buying the teststrips, meter, syringes, keytone teststrips, lancing device, lancets etc over the counter from walmart/relion allows us to feel secure that we have plenty of supplies for our daughter and don't have to cringe if she tests more one day than the other. she can freely test how many times she feels she needs without breaking our bank like the ones that the insurance will cover.

minimal kit.

taterhater January 28, 2013

I got this kit based on the need for cheap strips. I was surprised that this company was so cheap it didn't even include an lancing device.... and NO calibration fluid. How would one know that this is reading correctly?. I wish this meter had an alarm feature. Other than that it's an ok meter that does the job.

Not Accurate Enough For Me!

bobbie46 September 18, 2016

I was told by my Doctor's office this meter was reliable with it's readings, so I purchased it for a 'back up' meter. I like the meter; it feels good in my hand (I have nerve damage-hard to hold things), the sample was really small too. However, the readings I got were really high for me and I know my sugar was not that high; I truly feel it when my sugar gets over 150. This meter read 163 and my every day meter read 131 (which I felt this was a true reading). I know for a fact I was not at 163; therefore, I won't use this meter because for me it is not accurate.

Not a good product

jscatlovers October 9, 2013

First time I have ever got a piece of junk meter from ReliOn. Only worked for a few times, then every time I tried to use an error reading every time! Not only that, but removing the strip and inserting a new one did not work, you HAD to turn off the meter to try again. So, I either got a dud or a bad product.

Great price, if it worked.

Mom2Boxers April 28, 2020

Requires lots of set up and even then did not work. Even though stick covered in blood, said I needed more. Per manual and pictures I had more than enough. Tried again one with more blood, one with less, still did not work. Would be great as super price for meter and sticks, if it worked.

Glucose off at least 20 points

roberts2210 December 28, 2013

This is an inexpensive tester compared to others that I have used. The readings that I am getting is off by at least 20 points from the tester that I have verified and used for a couple of years. It also requires a fairly large blood sample compared to other testers. Pay the extra money and get an accurate product.
