I chose this because a lot of car enthusiast use this. I sanded the rust area on my trunk drain gutter down to the metal and used Rust Bullet Metal Blast to clean the area and remove rust. After it dried, I applied the Rust Bullet which adhered very well and created a very tough outer coating. I still have to apply another coat per the instructions. I do not have to apply enamel over it but it is recommended. I also used it on my washing machine lid and it came out good. Shipping took about 5 days but it was packaged very well. Read instructions well and plan your work. I will purchase again. This was a job I did not want to do again for a long time so the extra cost was warranted.
I have a car that is eighteen years old, and it started to develop a little rust behind the wheel wells, so I had to sand it down and repair it with body filler. When that happens, the metal gets pitted. The rust works its way into little pinholes. I thought I would need to remove all the rust so that the problem wouldn't come back in a few years, but a friend told me I could paint over the pinholes with this product instead, because it neutralizes the rust. That allowed me to preserve a lot more of the metal, so the repair was much easier and the result was better. I did some reading on the Internet and learned that I could use Bondo right over the top of the paint. So far it has worked well. Now I am using the rest of the Rust Bullet to touch up other rusty metal around my property. I have used outdoor house paint over the top of it, and that worked well too. The product is expensive, but I'm finding that a little goes a long way.
I used this Rust Bullet paint on my car's frame and it worked amazingly well. The application was smooth, it dried quickly, and the metallic gray finish looks great. Most importantly, it sealed the metal and stopped rust from spreading. Highly recommend for anyone wanting long-lasting rust protection.
Paint is thin enough to spray using hvlp sprayer. What i like most about this paint is the very little prep needed for adhesion. I did apply 2 coats, per instructions, and although it took half day for it to dry, it is holding up to multiple constant rain. My next project for this is painting the galvanized chimney cap.
I read the application directions online at rustbullet.com to be sure I applied it correctly. The 1/4 pint can is too small to adequately print the instructions. The directions said to stir thoroughly for approximately 3 minutes until it was "completely uniform and homogenous." I did this but it immediately has some elements that collect on the surface. I am hoping that this does not make a difference. It goes on beautifully and dries to a very nice looking finish. I waited 2 hours before applying the required 2nd coat with the same product. Since my car rust was underneath the fuel door and not visible, I did not need a color shell paint for the second coat. Cosmetically, the result was very good. Now I hope that it can stop the rust.
This stuff really seals out the rust! You can paint right over it with minimal preparation and so far so good!
My son-in -Law was. Able to repair my car with this product %26 2 other products!
Does the job as good as any product. Fair value for the money.
Completely encapsulated the rust completely encapsulated the rust very impressive
I didn't expect to have so much trouble opening the can. Put some on my truck around the rockers and fenders of the truck and it actually blended in with the silver paint better than expected. Time will tell how well it works.
