Easy way to make your tub look shiny again!

MissTori November 10, 2025

This worked waaaay better than expected. Covered flawlessly. Dried well. Definitely give it a bit longer to dry if you will add a suction bath mat. Had a few paint runs… I dotted with a paper towel, sprayed again, and you can’t even tell. VERY strong smell. Even with a vent I was choked out. But worth it.

AJ June 27, 2025

My tub is old, house built in 1983. After years of cleaning it, soft scrub, bleach, finish was wearing out and had almost grey primer like color showing through on the bottom inside. I cleaned the tub very thoroughly and masked off the top edges along tile. I sprayed 3 light to medium coats with each coat drying about 15-20 minutes between coats. Only the bottom 1/3 and just the top almost triangular flat four corners where you typically set shampoo and body wash bottles is all I sprayed. It took about 5/6th of one can. The fumes are super strong and your eyes even can feel a slight burn. I left a vent on for 24 hours and the next morning the fumes were halfway gone, after 48 hours 75% gone and after 3 days barely any smell left. You have to let it cure the full 72 hours/3 days before using the tub again. But boy does it look GREAT! It coated well, blended in perfect, looks 99% new again. You have to have a true white bath to just partially paint it, if you have an off white bath you’ll need to spray the whole bath to get a uniform one color bright white color finish and will need two cans. Or maybe they make more than one color tub paint? One can is adequate for doing mostly spot repair coverage like I did. Caution, when you take your first bath or shower three days later the finish is very slippery because it’s like a gloss white porcelain finish again. Now if you have let your tub go for so long and it’s basically a rust bucket don’t expect this to be a miracle fix all. It’s for light to moderate wear that can be repainted. I was extremely pleased with my results and was really impressed. I’ve used the tube shower plenty of times already and it looks and feels super durable. Oh yes, the fumes are REALLY bad, but be patient, open a window if you have one in your bathroom and leave the vent on a full 20-24 hrs to exhaust the fumes. They smell like pickles and pineapples mixed together to me. But trust me, you vent it and in 4 days it’s virtually just about totally gone. And make sure after you soft scrub and bleach clean prepping the tub before painting that you thoroughly clean the residue from the soft scrub and rinse the bleach away REALLY good and have it totally dry and try to have it low humidity in the bathroom before starting to paint. Follow the directions be patient and you’ll end up with an almost like new tub.

We like the price. you need at least two extra cans just in case. We refinished our bathroom stall shower. The shower is tile. we were quoted $1,500 to have it refinished. we did it ourselves. this product is great. follow the directions. go to YouTube and follow the directions. you will need to buy a few extra things. just read the directions they'll tell you what you need. cleaner filler fans sand paper tools to remove drain. mask tape Rust-Oleum Tub and Tile finish be prepared and you'll do just fine. we only spent $72 our showers very small. it turned out lovely. far cry from 1500. keep in mind you have to do this at least every 5 years. as long as you only wash your shower with Dawn soap or soft soap you'll be fine for 5 years.

Worth The Cost

Wendy April 4, 2026

I used this to repaint what was probably a 30-year-old toilet tank cover from that '90s awful off-white almost tan color to pure white to match my existing toilet after a repairman broke the toilet tank cover. I have really no spray paint experience. It was super easy to use. Came out awesome.

Goes on Clear, Nice spray, Nice shine. Waterproof

kandy April 2, 2026

It goes on clear without that white look before drying which makes it real easy to see how much you really need without over spraying, Dries great and nice glossy shine. Seems to be great against water also. Spray nozzle worked well. Even on 2nd use after days. Dry time took a while but small price to pay for a nice end shine

Use in a very well ventilated area!!!

Michael May 28, 2026

Use in a very well ventilated area!!! Covers great and easy to use. Compared to the price of others this is a great deal. I used this to refinish a tub that was stained and pitted due to a drain blockage and I had used a really heavy duty caustic drain opener.

Be ready for strong fumes.

Chris December 17, 2025

This spray is very very strong. When applying this paint, be sure to wear a very good air filtration mask. open windows and ventilate. If I were to do it again, I would have removed the tub and paint outside or buy a new tub. 400 to 600 wet sand paper. rinse with water thoroughly. Let dry 90 minutes. Use a tack rag for best results. It takes 72 hours of curing time. Be sure to put a light coat of paint at a time. I used 2-1/2 cans. . If you put more than that, the paint will run. I applied 4 coats. I'm satisfied.

Don't skip the prep work

Rylie December 3, 2025

The prep work seemed pretty extra, but the outcome was worth it. In my last apartment, I skipped the prep work and it turned out ok, but much better this time around.

Need 8 coats to cover anything not already white.

Brian August 14, 2025

No coverage and doesn’t match the other rustoleum tub and tile kit I did the tub with.

This product is absolutely worthless. I fully cleaned and followed the preparation instructions and did not use the tub for a full 72 hours and the paint peeled off during my first shower.
