Perfect Desk

I can't rate this desk because the product is five stars but it must have been sold before and sent back because it had two damaged spots and a small drawer bottom missing! I called Walmart.com no more in stock anywhere and all they did was give me 15 percent off whoopi not enough for what was wrong with and missing but I accepted the offer because it took me two days to put it together and it comes in a 1000 pieces! So the product is good but the people that sold it should have sent me a new one not a returned one! I feel like I'm due a way better discount than 15 percent off.....since I had to put a piece of cardboard in there for now! I had four more pictures to post but it will only let me post 2! It had another damaged spot so I'm going to have to make two bottom boards for small drawers for this 231.00 desk!!! Oh wait this 200.00 desk they gave me 15% off at Walmart.com

I would like to give this a five, as I'm really happy with the look and quality of the desk, but unfortunately it came to me cracked. It's a really heavy desk in a narrow box and even though it has a lot of Styrofoam and padding, the desktop still has the potential of getting bent and it looked like this box got creased at some point and put a crack in the bottom of the desk top. Luckily it's on the bottom and I was able to glue and repair it, but it still is a shame. And I didn't want to bother sending it back because it could certainly happen again to the replacement in shipping. So it's brand new and not in perfect condition. I imagine that the damage happened in shipping as the box is very long and heavy and I'm sure it got leaned up against something or put down hard on an uneven service and just bent the box enough to crack the top, I imagine it can happen easily, but it still is unfortunate.

This piece looks like 10 times the price. I get so many compliments on it and people can't believe it came out of a build-it-yourself box. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the hardware that looks gold in the picture is actually more of a copper color.

It's very challenging to put together.

The style of this desk is awesome!! My only issue is that the color (Antique Oak) was a lot darker than oak should be! Did not go with my furniture!

By far the worst shipping package I have ever received. Box was so damaged during shipping they taped it all back together. Loose wood pieces were just sliding around inside the box, so much so, it tore up the instruction manual. Several pieces had broken off corners but since it was so heavy I just glued them back on and assembled it once I figured out all the pieces ended up being in the box. Next time I buy furniture from a store I'll go pick out the box myself.
