With Mich temps rising and falling, ice is a problem, until I purchased Scotwood Eco -blend ice melt. IThe convenience of use is great. I put some out on my wooden walkway that stays super slick and afterwards I am no longer afraid that delivery personnel may slip. It instantly melted the ice and continues working too. First time buyer and very satisfied.
It was awesome. We ended up buying 60 more bags and then when we found out we're all of the tamales were camped out on the lake. We poured a big circle around it until it became loose and then they stand at panic and tried to drive off, but they drove off right into the lake.
I stocked up on these during the winter as I had a feeling we were going to be hammered on the East Coast. Boy, was I glad. First off, the price was great at roughly $10 a bag. I bought early in the season as well. Another plus. Our state had run out of it at all the big box stores and those that had it, were jacking up the price. As I purchased a bunch of these ahead of time, it was nice to know I wasn't struggling days before the bad storms hit. Worked well! I do wish it had a tint of color so you would know where you applied it while waiting for it to work, but all in all, minor "wish" compared to it just working. Worked very well. Didn't think I had to use a ton of it to get it to work and glad I purchased it. Will happily purchase these again in the future (although, I'll be honest -- I hope I am out of New England by the time I need this again. Snow is great as a kid but adulting is a pain!)
Works great and has nice bluish tint to the salt that makes it really easy to see where you've salted. I've used it in all temperatures and conditions and it's always worked great. We have a lot of delivery drivers come to our home, and it helps keep them safe on my driveway and sidewalk. I've been very happy with it (especially the price) and will continue to use it.
Place on sidewalk before snowstorm. No ice under snow when shoveled. Got rid of ice that was on the front steps of my home. Gave me peace of mind that the postman and anyone else would not slip on the stairs and get hurt. No ice on my sidewalks was also good to see.
Wile this product did work and stayed on driveway even after snow melt and dry it left a lot of large white patches on the driveway and it was still on driveway after 50 degree days started working on the next snow and ice Makes me think this might not be pet and animal safe it stated. But I do not know that for sure I'm no expert.
It does melt ice but on the downside it doesn't fully disolve so after the snow melts and even after it rains there are still undissolved pellets on the driveway. In addition the product leaves behind a white salt staining that will only come off with a pressure wash. This is probably unavoidable for most any ice melt product.
So I figured echo blend would be okay to use where cats walk outside. This is not a product. For you, if you have animals, meaning dogs that go outside to go to the bathroom outside cats, not for you.Very bad for their paws. And the label is misreading to me
This product is so eco-friendly, it protects ice from melting! Driveway had thin sheet of ice. About 20F outside. I put down a full 40 lb bag, which didn't seem to do much. After a few hours I put down another bag. It added some texture to the ice, echo made the ice a bit less slick. But it simply did not melt the ice. Waste of time and money.
Effective but clumpy so it takes more. BUT, Most displeased that the blueish green liquid in the bag leaked onto the carpet in the back of my SUV (from order pickup) and leaked and ran on my garage floor. Both are stained - thanks a lot! While I understand the desire to be able to see where you put the salt, having permanent damage to my vehicle and my garage floor is unacceptable.
