Solo Almond Filling is hard to find in our area. The only store that used to carry it, no longer does. I use about 5 to 6 cans a year. Only found out that the local store stopped stocking it 1 day before I needed it., sad sad sad. So my hubby checked all the store within 60 miles with no luck. He then ordered 6 cans of Solo Almond Filling and 6 cans of Solo Apricot Filling from Walmart to make the order over $35 to get the free shipping. Came within 5 days, so I will have plenty on hand when I need a can to make the breakfast roll.
I love this item...they're only available in the store for holiday season
I use this product often in my baking. I prefer it to Almond Paste. I wish Walmart and our supermarkets would carry this product in their stores, I was always able to purchase this in my local supermarket, and Walmart. The stores are no longer carrying Solo Almond Filling which makes me unhappy. Please bring back the product to the stores. I can only get it by buying 6 cans on line. If you are a baker you know this product. It is better than any I have had. And much easier than making it.
I just recently made a Hazenlnut Braid and mixed the hazelnuts with this almond past to make the filling, it was my best Hazelnut braid ever!!! So glad I found this product. Its a little expensive but for special occations it is well worth the money!!!
I use the almond filling for all my pastry recipes that call for almond paste. It's much easier and is exceptionally good.
I was unable to find the almond flavor…was very excited to finally find it!
We didn't dislike it it's just not what we expected to taste like my daughter thought it would be like the Costco pastries that they sell. They are in filling this is just different. It's not what we expected. I wouldn't say it was bad just out that would not just what my daughter would sto it was gonna taste like but thank you. Appreciate your products.
Got caught behind on baking plans this year. Usually start picking up cans of almond paste early in the holiday season because of cost. I was unable to find almond paste in stores in time for my baking this Christmas. Then tried to order online, but filling was the only thing available. Was going to pass, but read 2 reviews claiming this item could be used for recipes calling for almond paste. I believed them and regret it. The filling contains corn syrup and has a jelly consistency which is very different from the paste. My Italian almond cookie recipe contains sugar, conf. sugar and egg whites with very little flour. So I ended up with a bowl of syrup that could not form cookies at all. Had to put so much flour to balance it, the cookies are basically inedible. So please use this only for recipes that specifically call for filling and use paste for recipes that call for paste.
The product is fine however the seller The NewMall sent me 4 cans - I ordered the 6 pack. Walmart seems to take no responsibility for their sellers. I have left a voice message and also found their website and filled out a contact form. Right now I am very unhappy with this experience and do not plan to buy anything online from Walmart that I can purchase locally at similar prices. My 1 star rating is for the seller not the product.
Received this order and just used it to make rainbow cookies. Unfortunately this batch was tainted as I used 4 cans and the dough consistency was off. When you know your dough, you know. I had to go out and buy more to finish my holiday baking.
