It is very much like the original super spirograph. The only thing missing is the original had ink pens 🖊 in them. Now, they put felt tip pens 🖊 in these sets. other than not having ink pens, it works very well, and it's working out for me to do my crafts with.
I had a super Spirograph as a kid and loved it. I had many hours of fun using it so I bought this for my grandson who is very artistic. He really likes it and I can see him having many hours of fun too. The only thing about it is you HAVE to keep the clear plastic inserts to cover the pieces in the carry case. If you try to carry it without the inserts all the pieces will fall out! But the Spirograph seems to be the same as when I was a kid. Great toy, I'm glad they brought it back.
I bought this as a gift for myself, and it would make a great gift for your youngsters (8 age). Having lots of fun making amazing designs!
Ordered it for a granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it and it was something that none of her friends had. A toy from years back bringing happiness to another generation

Ordering & shipping was hassle-free-I ordered online and picked it up at a store just down the street from where I live. But... this set came with 2 identical wheel sizes: #72. So, I'm minus a #80. I realize this isn't wal-mart's fault, & I have every intention of contacting the manufacturer to try to get this straightened out, but still. Buggy. Oh, the joys of mass-production.
I'm sure older than 10 would like this. Just too much going on for younger than 10. Granddaughter was not impressed. The only one we could find in stock at Christmas time. We should have just waited for a smaller set made for beginners.
