Great for a backpacking trip - lightweight, compact and has straps. Provides just as much comfort as you can expect from a standard (non-inflatable) camp pad.
Measures in at about 1/2" or so thick, it is probably the thickest of the ones offered, but still very thin. The pad does provide a water and cold barrier of substantial quality, and it does just about cover the full length of a sleeping bag and width if you do not roll around all over. The point the mat brings to mind is that it provides the most basic cover for terrain and will stop most small rocks or twigs from bothering the user. It however is so thin it will not provide much more than that for complete comfort. Doubling up is hardly an option as the pad is already enormous, measures about 19 1/2" and about 6 feet long or so.
I bought five of these to use as a makeshift mattress when camping. However, these pads are so firm that even five of them barely compress. It is much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground but can be hard for side sleepers. Two or at the most three are enough to insulate from the ground. These are very useful for sleeping on gravel or other hard, uneven surfaces as their firmness does not allow rocks and roots to push through.
This a a good "first time" sleeping pad for youngsters on a camping trip. Very light, good insulation, and has built-in roll up straps. Definitely NOT for an adult, unless you're packing light and/or use to sleeping on bare ground. ( Not enough padding for old bones. LOL!) As an emergency ground cover it's a great alternative. And a great price!
We ordered this very last minute for my 3 year old son to place under his sleeping bag. He was sleeping on the wood floor of my in-laws home. Although it seemed okay, I was concerned that there was not enough "plush" between him and the floor. I had read the product specs and knew what I was ordering, hindsight, I should have gotten a blow up air mattress to appease myself. Great value, great size especially the length, just not what I needed for this instance.
This pad was ok for my camping trip. It was sufficient to provide some kind of padding on the camp ground but wished it would be thicker for comfort and protection. But overall it met my expectations.
This is a very thin pad, much thinner than I expected. It came torn, and I had to replace it. I haven't used it outdoors yet, but I don't expect it to be durable at all. I hope it will at least work as a decent insulator.
The bought the pad for a camping trip I was taking with my boyfriend. Him and I ended up using it as a picnic "blanket", a yoga matt, and a place to put our shoes on in the past couple of months. However, it definitely does not do any good as a sleeping pad.
Very uncomfortable. Light
Bought these because I could not get the Ozark Trail Camping Pad. Thought these would hold up well. Within 1 day, they were already damaged. They also compress to nothing, so It is only slightly better than sleeping on bare ground. I did like the straps though.
