Drain the water out of this white albacore tuna, and you have a wonderful seafood meat that tastes like tuna steak! Sandwiches, tuna casseroles, and salads are what I use it for. All I can say is you have to try it for yourself to find out. It's teal good seafood!
I like to keep this always in the house. But I think I need 2 pkgs per week now my husband wants it too. Albacore is better than the cheaper tuna, quality is better but watch for bones once in a great while. Also, in tuna helper this is better than regular tuna. Add mayo and pickle relish, dill of course is best. If you like the dill relish you may also like the dill mayo that now of course I have to have plus the sliced pickles oh my gosh.
I really pleased with the new Starkist product line. I find that the chunk white is just as flavorful and firm as the solid white. The quality is the same reliable StarKist. The quality is the same as the old StarKist so I buy more and save even more money. Thank you Starkist.
The tuna I've been eating since I was a kid. Happy I can get a 1 portion serving in a can, no stinky leftovers. Tastes great, helps with protein intake, and no added oil is a plus.
This white albacore tuna is the best. Absolutely delicious as a salad or by itself, I can't get enough, it's very tasty and has no fishy aftertaste.
While I would not recommend StarKist Chunk White Albacore Tuna if there is another brand cheaper, I can't fully recommend it on quality because with few exceptions every can I open is more like CHUNK white rather than SOLID white, which you pay extra for. That along with an excessive amount of water, which I wonder if its included in the weight. Surprisingly, the Great Value solid white is true solid white tuna and also more expensive. But since i just use it to make tuna fish sandwiches, I likely should just go to the chunk white cheaper stuff because it tastes the same. Great Value solid white used to be cheaper than the 2 name brands, but Starkist and Bumble Bee solid white albacore is inferior to it in quality, so I assume that's why their price stayed low and Great Value's price went up.
There was soo many bones in these can that I putchased. Ive never seem a batch of tuna like this before. it was packed in wayer. ut it was a gel like substance in the cans.
I always liked Starkist tuna ...BUT... these looked more like table scraps and they have scales %26 pieces of bone in them it looks like there is no quality control anymore
This is probably the worst tuna I have ever purchased. It was mushy and there was so many pieces of miscellaneous bones, black stuff, gross I can't even describe it all. Enclosing a pic of what I picked out! Contacted starkist and got no response. I do not recommend this item. If you want cheap, just by regular old can tuna because that's what you get. I don't care what they say on the can.
Starkist was sold out to a Korean firm and is under FDA investigation for processing problems. You'll find this out when you open the can. Discolored pieces of something fishy.
