StarKist Selects Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water, Wild Caught, 30g Protein, 4.5 oz Can

I am the daughter of a commercial fisherman. Grew up on the coast of Oregon. My brothers %26 I grew up with home canned Albacore. My mother only ever canned the loins! I have tested MANY Albacore brands %26 have paid varying prices, this is hands down the best I have ever had since my mother's home canned. Well worth the higher but affordable price point. So very grateful it does not smell like the 'cannery floor' like so many of the other brands do! AND this Albacore is SOLID! Very little 'liqid' when opened %26 drained. So many others appear to be an Albacore 'slushy slurry' NOT solid like this!

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of tuna fish sandwiches. I'll have one if I'm offered it at someone else's house or if someone at home really wants it. I hardly ever seek it out or have a craving for it. It turns out, I was just buying the wrong tuna! I've tried just about every name brand and store brand there is, never wanting to try the "fancy cans", as I didn't want to pay the extra money. But, let me tell you, it's worth the price! This tuna is less "fishy", if that makes sense? It has a better texture and goes great with some light mayonnaise on some potato bread. I don't find many (if any) dark spots that I usually pick out of other brands. It's a great, easy protein to add to your meal and the small can makes for good portion control. While I wish this tuna was cheaper (don't we all wish everything was cheaper, though?), it's worth the price. Highly recommended!

No vegetable stock included to cover the taste of stinky socks. Simple ingredients--tuna, water, and sea salt. It smells and tastes better than many other canned tunas.

This quality of tuna is top shelf-superb! The robust taste speaks volumes. The tender texture is divine! This tuna has unsurpassed quality! It is a must try! It's so good that it's reeling in the compliments!

All solid white albacore in all brands have black veins in them which is disgusting. This StarKist Selects has none.

This is the ONLY canned tuna I eat. It's the Prime Rib of canned tuna! It has a more solid texture than regular tuna and tastes oh so expensive!

I usually buy safe, catch albacore Tunis i usually buy safe, catch albacore Tunis in the same size can at about the same price maybe a tiny bit more, The difference and thus, the problem with this tuna compared to safe catch albacore tuna, is the taste! I'd rather just buy a star kist cheapo tuna if I'm going to get the fishy fishy nasty fishy taste of this tuna they call it select but it looks as bad as it taste I would never buy this again waste of money just buy safe catch or some other wild caught tuna instead.
