Steel D-Handle Digging Shovel

This is a fantastic shovel. I ended up finding this one after my husband broke 2 or 3 of the cheaper ones. I was initially hesitant to spend this much, but it really is worth it. No moving pieces to get loose by the shovel head, heavy dutu, sturdy, sharp - it's really the best shovel I've ever used.

It is ok as a digging shovel, which it is. I just needed a long handled shovel instead. It is as the description reads

At least Fiskars is paying attention! No more creaking, cracking or snapping. Almost perfect, I just would like to see a steel handle. But, this double wide handle lets you comfortably grip the bottom of the handle at the shaft for those just a little more moments to save the handle for very much commercial or residential future use. Wood is no longer any good, you're wasting your money if you buy anything but full metal.

This shovel is strong and durable.I have terrible ground like cement and this shovel actually digs in it without breaking. It's great to be able to dig without worrying that the shovel handle will snap in half.

I wish I could give a more detailed review, but when my shovel arrived my husband liked it so much he claimed it for himself. He's been using it ever since. I ordered it to assist me in planting the many trees I want to plant around our property. I'm not sure what all my husband has been using it for, but he's used it for a lot. It's standing up really great to him, which is a testament to what a good shovel it is. I suppose I'll have to order another one for myself if I want to get my trees planted.

I had some lilies that were over 20 years old that just needed to be pulled up and this shovel was better than I expected. I had already spent two days working on getting up the lilies but using hand tools, hand trowel and a 3 times fork to try to get them up. But when I got the shovel, I got more done in just a few hours than I did working the same amount of hours on just one or two lilies. The shovel was spectacular the foot plate that you put your foot on to push the shovel into the dirt was really good it's wide enough to wear It doesn't make your foot ache to press the shovel into the dirt. It was strong, the pushing down to get the root balls up from those lilies was just spectacular . Some of the root balls on those lilies were massive and I mean massive. So this shovel just made that work so much easier. I would highly highly recommend this shovel.

I've come to trust the Fiskars brand name, whether it's on scissors or garden tools, and this shovel is no exception. It seems to be sturdy and well built to last a very long time. And since I couldn't afford a back hoe, I had to settle on the shovel.

Specifically, this high-quality shovel. It's the perfect length, to begin with. The highly visible orange handle is comfortable to grasp. When you get down to the digging there's that keen, sharp blade you expect from a Fiskars product. Plan now to simplify your gardening or other tasks that you need to "dig into" with the purchase of this great product. Sure to last many, many years.

After digging in rough dirt that hadn't been touched in a long time, this shovel went in nice and easy. It's a bit heavy but solid. I like the orange handle because of how wide it is. I'd recommend this shovel for your gardens. I only had for a little so can't say how long it will last but it feels well made.

I purchased this shovel to use while metal detecting. It was advertised as such. The shovel was poorly shipped. The head was taped in a box and the handled was out of the boxes. It could be bent. I haven't unwrapped the handle. I might return it so container intact. I would not recommend this shovel for metal detecting. I'm a woman so a man might use it but it is too cumbersome for even a man to use metal detecting.
