Purchased for use as my new home phone. After getting the base unit, this 30 day card is almost half the cost of what I was paying Frontier (formerly Verizon) Landline for a monthly basic no frills home phone. New base unit allows me to use my own wireless units, as well as many digital options not available before, such as voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding, unlimited calls and unlimited US long distance etc. Buy your base unit online @ walmart.com, as it costs $20 more in the Wal-Mart store. This system has delivered everything it advertised. Well satisfied.

this is a great option for seniors, those on a limited income, or just about anyone who is interested in saving a buck wherever they can. The initial layout of $100 for the modem might be stiff to some, but the savings every month are INCREDIABLE ! ! Where else can you get UNLIMITED service AND UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE for $15 ! ! !

I had been searching for a while for a way to have consistent home phone service without my landline since the company servicing the landline was not consistent in its quality of service. After reading reviews online about Straight Talk Home Phone, I decided to cut the cord and hooked up the new system to my multi-handset cordless phone set and it has been working efficiently and smoothly for the past 2 months! When I have needed to talk to the tech support during the porting of my home phone number, they were very helpful and clear in their instructions about what would happen. I heartily recommend this system as long as the customer lives in an area code that offers the wi-fi service on which it depends.

ha, this straight talk phone is the best kept secret in the world.oh trust me ,i took this same home phone with me to the city and it worked great.so come on america get aboard,i am 65 years young and this phone works .just plug it in and leave the talking to you. peace, doug

We were paying 40.00 a month on a land line phone and this Straight Talk Home Phone works just as well if not better for over half the price. Our phone that we have the answering machine never worked with the landline phone company and now it does! Very easy to install and works like a charm. Very glad I bought one.

The first one I bought had malfunction problems, But I took it back & it was replaced & since that time It's been very good, call quality is acceptable compared to other products ive tried and for the money I recommend it, there is only one problem I noticed, if you use a cordless phone the transmission will interfere with the reception of the Straight receiver, sometimes giving an echo sound, But if you use a hard wired home phone its very clear. Also before you Buy make sure it will work in your area, & if it does you will be pleased

Although it says it would not work in my area, it works fine. I have had ST home phone for about 3 years now and have only one complaint. I wish they would allow you to get 3 month, 6 month or even 1 year service. With my ST cell phone I get 6 month service at one time, I like that. I would like the same for my home phone. Other than that I have had absolutely no problems.

Affordable house phone ... I bought straight talk home phone because I need to manage and budget my bills. It has voicemail and caller ID if you preinstall names. It is convient for me and it doesnt need internet to operate. I believe this is a great phone for those who are tired of high costly phone bills. It also is great to have as a second phone line if you have kids etc...15 dollars a month is a great price for home phone service. The wireless unit cost between 89.00 to 99.99 depending on where you live and buy it (internet or store).

I bought this as a potential replacement for my Vonage service. It's so expensive (feature rich however) so I thought I would give this a whirl. It seemed to work but a turn off for me is that unlike Vonage, it's 911 service isn't prepopulated so that a dispatcher will know your location. This unit however is impressive. It has a huge antenna and gets a good signal. It also has what reminds me of the type of rechargeable battery in a cordless phone. Therefore, if the power goes out, and you have a phone that doesn't require electricity, you'd still be able to make a call. I'm also thinking about checking out Walmart's Basic Talk Service.

Verizon doesn't work in our area. I drove 25 minutes one way to get this product and it didn't work. I think it should be advertised this product is thru Verizon. If you ever hook up with ATT I will buy it again. I wanted to use it for a land line. I had even purchased the "box" for the home phone. Again I was greatly disappointed when I saw it was thru Verizon.
