you save when you buy it the 6th month card. so instead of paying $270 within 6 months you get $10 off each month with the 6 month plan totaling $ 210 instead of $270. well worth it.
I've been using straight talk $45/month plan for about 2 years now and it's the best phone plan I've ever had. I have used it with iphones and Android. It uses the at&t network, so coverage is great and data speeds are great. I travel a lot for work and service is great throughout the country. It takes a few minutes to get it set up on your phone, but after that you don't need to adjust anything. Just make sure you track your data consumption and don't go over 5 gigs in your 30 day billing period or you will get throttled to a very slow data speeds. There are a few downsides. You can't use straight talk in other countries, even Canada or Mexico. Customer service is horrible if you ever need it. A Google search works better than calling straight talk. It does take a few minutes to set up the data settings on your phone. I've had problems not getting picture text messages, but not anymore. Maybe they fixed it. Overall it's a great service and you will save a lot over Verizon and AT&T.
I have purchased these cards on-line before. BE CAREFUL to buy the card that gives you an on-line code via e-mail. DO NOT buy the option to pick up a physical card in-store. I've made this mistake twice and it is difficult to get the card number validated. Store staff made things right, but it is time consuming. This pre-paid is the way to go!
I will admit it's pretty useful to buy and not think about, But gets a bit slow further in the country. So If straight talk already works well in your current location I'd definitely recommend it. Pretty much just your normal StraightTalk issues is all it has.
If you purchase your airtime directly from straighttalk they will apply it when your service expires, but if you add a card purchased through walmart you will lose your remaining days, unless you add it on the last day of your service. I received it in 24 hours in my email and had no problems using it. I recommend going through straighttalk directly, let them add on your new time after your old time runs out, to not lose any days of service you already paid for. No problems otherwise.
Compared to the major carriers this is a rather inexpensive way to go for phone service. Only problem is in some areas the service is spotty but used the phone GPS for trips to TX and back to SC with no problem and did not use that much of the data allotment at normal speed.
Refill applied easily and reduced monthly costs, but after adding noticed some slow down when using moblie data
I searched walmart.com foe prepaid hotspotand purchased one that said straighttalk wireless 10g hotspot data for six months . It wouldn't work for the straighttalk wireless hotspot I purchased and Walmart will not exchange and straightalk only offered to change my 6 mounth 210 dollar plan for a 30 day 25 dollar plan. I think this qualifies as theft.
never received...can't get any help...wm took my money...I received nothing but a run around trying to get help...looking at getting new phone service because of this. 5 days now and counting
Bought this as a gift but somehow lost the card before I got home. I had the receipt where it was purchased, but couldn't get a new card or a refund to buy another one. $230 just gone!
