Really good and always reliable boil in a bag when you need it. White rice serves 2 purposes. Great for orange chicken and egg rolls (Walmart brands) 1. - Great for those meals that require rice like Chinese, Asian food or post roast. 2. - Eat this rice plain when you have an upset stomach, bloating, gas or acid reflux. Rice will calm your stomach down and relive your symptoms. I know for a fact, my whole family uses rice when we have gut issues. Just plain rice, no salt, no flavor, just boil in a bag and eat it!
Great ingredients. Easy to make. Can be made on stove or by using a microwave. Just drop a bag into water and boil for 8-10 minutes. Carefully remove bag, open and serve. This is great for those without a rice cooker. The ingredients label list enriched rice. Note: Family size means more rice in a larger bag. In picture with 2 bags, 1 bag is regular and other is Family size. For 2 , we use 1 regular bag. Turns out more moist than dry.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rice was so convenient! I made a deconstructed stuffed bell peppers and recipe called for rice, it was so convenient to throw the packets in the microwave (according to directions) and I was able to make my dinner quick! It tastes really good, no mess! Does not clump or get mushy and the texture is great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Success Rice is a sample in my household. We always have a box of white, jasmine and basmati in our pantry. The white rice goes great with any meal. I love how fast it cooks and one bag is the perfect amount for two. So easy; no measuring involved.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this to make some chicken and rice for dinner. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. So much so that we specifically used this so my 12 year old could make dinner all by themselves. The rice was gone quickly and everyone enjoyed it. It was exactly as expected and tasted great. Not mushy or crunchy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I've never seen rice cooked this way before. I was skeptical about the plastic, but it didn't burn. It's kind of like sous-vide but with rice. I wish I had taken a photo after I cooked it, but I was too hungry! The texture is just like normal white rice that you can buy from the grocery store. It didn't feel too soggy, and it tasted fresh. I think this is a good product for something like camping. I don't personally see the appeal for regular use., and I would rather just cook normal rice. The god also takes up more storage space then a regular bag of rice. It doesn't mean this is a bad product though. It's just not for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use rice often in our house, but I hadn't tried this product. I liked the packaging, as well as the brand. I liked the convenience of it. Easy to make. It was fluffy enough and tasted good with the chicken and vegetables we used. I'd recommend.
The box arrived bended dented badly and top of box was open as I have pictured in photos here. This is unacceptable! I have to make sure I wash rice thoroughly. I have been buying from Walmart for many years and I don't want to stop but if this continues, I will stop being a customer asap!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first time trying boxed boil in bag rice mixes. I was skeptical at first about the cooking process but was left thoroughly surprised at how well it worked out. We’re not used to the flavor of this type of white rice as we’re die hard Japanese calrose rice people! So this was something different we needed to get used to. When it cooked up the texture was very wet and mushy at first but after letting it sit awhile the excess water seemed to soak up and then turned into a crumbly texture? My husband notes that the taste was lacking any flavor and could’ve benefited from being cooked in a broth with spices instead of just water. I would say this may be a good convenient way to get some rice in for a meal. I could see this being good for camping. Or maybe a situation where you don’t have a free space to use on the stove as you can also make this in the microwave as well.
This is the second box I have bought where every single bag of rice is busted open! You don’t notice it in the box but then after you boil it when you go to drain the water, the bag has busted open and rice is everywhere. I thought this would be a one off, so I opened a brand new box and it’s doing the exact same thing!
