This is now a staple in my pantry. So easy to prepare, I'll never go back to peeling and boiling potatoes. Contrary to package directions, you don't need to add boiling water. First, adding water only doesn't do anything for the flavor. I mix with 2/3 milk and 1/3 water, stir then put in the fridge. The powder soaks up the liquid and thickens in minutes. Then whenever I'm ready, I scoop out what I need and microwave it. Great taste! Love Idahoan!!

I honestly can't say enough good things about these. Value - I can get at least 3 good sized servings out of one of the small packs which is just over a buck. To me that's a great value AND you only need to add water so no extra cost for milk or butter. I do add a little butter to mine usually because I like extra butter in my potatoes but it is truly not needed. Texture - I've had several people tell me they thought they were homemade. I can tell the difference, but the texture is very good. It's easy to get the clumps to break down, so you end up with a nice, smooth texture that's enjoyable to eat. Flavor - arguably the most important aspect. These deliver. I have tried most of their flavors and they are all spectacular and they truly are better than the store brand. We've tried them side by side and there is a clear difference. The Idahoan ones win every single time. My brother - who loathes instant mashed potatoes and absolutely will not eat them - was actually win over by these and makes them all the time now.

Mashed patatoes.Sometimes I'll dried chives, or fresh garlic to the water before it starts to boil. The potatoes are sometimes thicker then I'd want so I'd add a small pit of milk. My family likes pepper so add some. All of the additions give the potatoes a fresher flavor than plain old instant.

I love these instant potatoes. Why? Because my daughter loves them and she is the pickiest eater I've ever met. She even likes them better than homemade or the pricier versions in the refrigerated section. I do add some butter and salt and pepper, but that's it.

I buy these regularly.They don't have the gritty instant potato texture like some have.Flavor is actually good considering Easy to prepair just boil 2 cups of water and dump in and stir well! I don't even boil mine I mix when I see the water looks hot in pan.I found boiling the water makes then thin even after sitting a minute.Alsonif your having gravy you really should add a bit less water unless you enjoy soupy potatoes.I love how easy and fast these cook.I actually use them in Shepard's pie and it comes out quite well as long as I use less water so they are thicker.Great item to always have in my house! Also this red bag is the only one I like but there are many different flavors available!

It's a fast, easy to make meal that's delicious and is the perfect size meal for one person. I heat 2 cups of water in a 2 quart Pyrex measuring cup on High for 4 minutes. Remove, add a pouch of mashed potatoes, wait for it to absorb the water, stir, then put it on a plate ready to eat or add your favorite toppings. My toppings vary from gravy to spreadable butter with black pepper or ketchup.

I have, like many of you I'd bet, a picky teen who likes to talk incessantly about how organics, see you oils, margarine, versus butter, and all these odd brands are what I need to buy in order for him to grow into a young man worthy of living another year… he will not eat instant anything, however, with these bags and him in his room I am able to whip up potatoes that he thinks I'm mashed by hand. They're that good and all you need is water. And a great poker face!

I have always love potatoes. Real spuds are the best way to go, but sometimes we all need more time and this helps. The flavor is good, if you like it creamier, add a touch of milk. I try to have this stuff on hand when I need it. Guess what, A new week and I need it again as, I have no real potatoes on hand.
