This is very tasty for a shelf stable item. It is a hint under 9 ounces, and it has no cholesterol and only one saturated fat gram. That is notably more healthy than a lot of other premade versions I have had of this dish. I eat bowls like this for breakfast, and the portion is perfect for me. I have a pretty hearty appetite because I exercise every day. if you have two of these balls, you can mix in half a can of garbanzo beans to make it more substantial. They have enough sauce for that. I would definitely describe the flavor as on the sweeter side and not spicy. I am going to add sriracha to it, as I generally do with Indian dishes. If you have had this one in a restaurant, you are likely to be pleasantly surprised at this one not being oily. Again, I would describe the flavor as mild. As with many of the heat and eat bowls, you have to pull back the plastic covering the dish without removing it. My hands are not very strong, so I always have a hard time doing this. Sometimes, the best way to do it is to just cut a small area on the inside edge of the plastic and pull up from there. that is how I opened this one.
I read a bunch of mixed reviews, so I thought I’ve give my honest opinion! Size: when I first saw the size, I thought it wouldn’t be that much. It was WAY more than I thought. It filled me up very quickly and I’ve stayed full. Taste: I read a lot of reviews that it was bland. The bowl comes with a sauce packet (It says Mexican Vinaigrette) %26 it was very tasty! Honestly, that probably would’ve been enough for me….but I like to spice things up so I added in some salsa with the bowl and stirred in. It was very good! Hopefully this helps someone. It was very good, filling, and easy for someone who needs a quick %26 easy meal on the go — but can still watch what they eat!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was one of the best on the go meals that I have tried. First off, it only takes 60 seconds to heat up, which if you're in a busy environment that is constantly fighting for the microwave, is always a plus. With 360 Calories and 12 g of protein, it definitely kept me full the rest of the afternoon until dinner time. One of the best parts is the cilantro vinaigrette is packaged seperately, so it gives you the chance to taste it to see if you even like it before adding it to the bowl and control how much you actually put on. While it's good to enjoy on its own, I enjoyed mine with some chips.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This protein bowl I was excited to get in the mail but I was definitely slightly disappointed and was not expecting for it to taste the way it did and it honestly didn't look too appetizing. When I think of Mexican protein bowl I think more or spices and hottness such as fajita style but this was definitely not that. It was not the best but if you need a quick meal I guess it wouldn't be bad since it does have a decent amount of protein but the sauce was a little ehhhh. I am not sure if I would recommend using the sauce, i honestly have no idea what it was and the taste was interesting but I am picky when it comes to food so maybe you'll like it
A much smaller quantity than I expected for the price. Why are shelf-stable meals so much smaller than frozen meals? The taste was alright. The chickpeas were crunchy.
Not totally gross and better than expected. I tried this little meal because there was 75 cent cash back so why not. My expectations were LOW so if you have proper expectations about a microwave meal you won’t be disappointed. I added salt. I don’t know if it was supposed to be in the freezer or refrigerator or neither. My kid put it in the freezer. I moved it to the fridge but I don’t recall either being required.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My experience with the chickpea masala thanks to influnsters!! This is my opinion was hard to open the plastic without completely removing it but once opened it's 90 seconds and you mix both products and microwave and have yourself a snack tasty lightly spiced but definitely tasty
It's smaller than I expected and I have taken a picture of it with a small lollipop so you guys can have the idea of its size. Taste is okay, I expected the dressing to be spicy with a hint of jalapeños but it actually has a little sweet taste so I added my own hot sauce and then it tasted better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ingredients in this is awesome. Nothing but protein and you can read every ingredient on there. It came plastic sealed with the sauce packet separate. I popped it in the microwave for 2 min and it was perfect. You can taste the quinoa and the chickpeas in here and the sauce, made it a little bit more manageable. I did season it myself, but overall, it was pretty good. I didn't really like the smell of it, but the taste of it wasn't bad. Thank you Influenster for letting me test this product.
Rice was hard and the food was completely tasteless. Like eating cardboard.
