I had a more expensive one and it lasted for a while, but was always cumbersome to use hard to turn on hard to turn off. The people would go on and you had to hold the button for a long time to get it to go off. This one is so simple has a magnet. I just leave it on the side of our stove you open it's ready to go you close it. It's done and it reads real fast.

Some makers of instant read thermometers try to over-complicate things. This is simple. The numbers are large VERY easy to read. You can calibrate the temp whenever you feel like, so you know the probe is reading accurately. That's what you want. Accurate, easy to read results. At a a good price. This gives you that. Oh, as a quality of life thing, the magnets on this thing are stronger than they really need to be, or expect to get at this price. The thing sticks to the side of my fridge VERY securely. Love that.

Got this Thermopro thermometer to replace a cheap analog one that died. Thought I would give a digital unit a try. This thermometer is awesome! Very well- made and easy to read, and has handy magnet. Better than the traditional glass bubble cooking thermometers that I grew up with. Hot water for bread making will never be too hot and kill the yeast again. Deep fryers with thermostat control will be just right with a more accurate thermometer to use. The folding probe makes sure that the probe will never get bent or broken. I keep mine in easy access, on the front of my wall oven with the built in magnets. I hope that you are as happy with yours as I am with mine.

Now this is a good meat thermometer, it's an instant read thermometer which means the temps are recorded and displayed immediately. I like that when cooking because I hate having to read using the pointer or waiting until it settles on the notch. This does exactly what I want it to, when I want it to. I haven't checked for accuracy, but by the doneness of my meat I'm certain every number is correct!

Sooo much better than one I got from Wasserstrom that is supposed to carry professional restaurant equipment... It was terrible in many ways. I threw it in the trash! I love this one - it is easy to use and very accurate and very reasonably priced.

This is a fantastic meet thermometer it's easy to read it's easy to use. I had another one that I couldn't see it and it wasn't easy to read or turn on and off. This one's so simple. I love it. I have trouble seeing and so being able to read the numbers easily is a huge benefit for me. It registers quickly. It works beautifully. I don't know about the battery life cuz I've only had it a couple of weeks. But so far so good.

My opinion may change, but, right out of the box and placing the battery, I have 0 power. Won't turn on, won't even show a temperature, nothing. I thought maybe it was a dead battery - placed a fresh battery inside, and still nothing. I've held down every button, no sound, no light, no reading. So far very disappointed, I was hoping for a better product!

Brand new and the temperature is not accurate at all. Nearly ruined an expensive rib eye. I like mine medium rare and it was not all accurate. Such a shame. Bought an OXO and much better.

Directions-????What directions-a piece of paper with writing-a child can do! It takes a special person to write step by step directions that are easy to follow! I wasted all this time %26 money for nothing!
