Thames & Kosmos Glowing Chemistry Experiment Kit

My 9 year old daughter decided this summer that she is going to be a scientist and the Chemistry and Physics sets from Kosmos and Thanes are the best ( not only because I had them as a child!!!) They continually increase the level of experiments teaching children ( and adults) more than just "how to make bubbles". With baking Soda . The glow in a dark chemistry lab corospinds great with the Kosmos Chem 500 set or can be used as a beginner set to give your child the oportunity to be curious The experiments are safe, age apropriate and lots of fun.. Who does not love watching a liquid turn it's colors and start glowing in the dark? The instructions are easy to understand and the explanations for the chemical reactions are not dumbed down - the language is scientific but still age appropriate. My little girl loves it to put on her pink lab coat, adjust her safety glasses ( included in the kit) and to amaze her friends . I have to admit that I was suprised about the low price and I hope that Walmart will continue offering high quality educational toys for such a great price!

This set from what I am gathering is perfect for the science masters in your house. Grandaughter who is 10 loves it...Has learned very much also. So happy I chose this for a Christmas present!!

My twelve-year-old son was not that impressed. I think he enjoyed it a little, but wouldn't want another one. He felt it was the same experiment over and over again,only with different shapes. Then again, it's very hard to impress a twelve year old boy. At least he didn't hate it!
