Great Gift for Science Minded Kid
I gave this kit to my 11-year- old nephew. He was really pleased with it. I have purchased other Smithsonian products and all were well made.

Young Scientist Loves It
Our great niece has started on the experiment in the Science Lab. There are six in this box. She finds reading and doing the experiments fun. She's learning and is experiencing the experiments herself and not just watching. Good quality. This is a must have for any kid interested in science experiments.

Great science kit for children.
It's a very nice science kit. It has a bunch of experiments to do with easy to understand instructions. Perfect for the 11 year-old child I bought it for.

Science
Some items can easily be done without kit. It was for my grandchild who turned 7. It was a gift. I have done all of these in my classroom with 4 and 5 yr. olds with household materials or a couple of inexpensive items from dollar tree. Baking soda, borax, vinegar, water , playdough, 2 liter bottles , Styrofoam balls, paint, and you have it. I do all these at school for less than 8 dollars. Paying for convenience, and the wants of a child. And it is smaller than I create.

one of the worst science kits.
There were a few activities that were a thrill to my child, like the dino dig and the weather machine thing. The volcanoe did not erupt well even though we followe the instructions. The crystal only grew under the rock. The bug enclosures lids would always fall off. And the bug suctioner does not work at all. Not buying this again.

Came broken
The Dino dig came broken and you could see the bones coming out of the broken pieces. The globe that the child paints doesn't have the sketch of the world and they have to try to draw it themselves before painting. Just did keep my son occupied he got bored really quickly. Even though this came with a few things to do I don't think it was worth the cost.
