The sealed versions of "The Cuff" are safe at weights higher than 5 lbs, making an 8 lb pair(16lbs)=/ and enough Katas an alternative to pushups or weight lifting if your hands are wrecked. The majority of building muscle options require ideal hands, but if those are on a vacation of sorts, "The Cuff" and Katas will do nicely.
it is a little expensive that most brands on Amazon. But it is worth of the money. I have a meniscus tear and went to physical therapist for 6 months. This is the Brand they used. Most important is that, the weight is evenly distributed on your ankel. For other brands the weight maybe is evenly weight on your ankle, which may hurt your knee when you walk as it is a little swing about your ankel, like a pendulum. I bought an adjustd pair a few years ago for my osteoprosis. It has 5 small sand(or crushed stone) bags. You can put one bag, or two bag to adjust the weight. But since it has only one bag on your ankel, so it is not balanced on your ankel. not confortable. My osteoprosos doctor recommended wear weight while walking.
These weights are the same as the ones I use in physical therapy. Then price was good. I now use them to do my exercises at home when not going for therapy.
The Cuff ankle and wrist weight is a recognized brand in the therapy industry. I used this in both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic sessions recovering from a fractured tibia. I use this weight in my home as I continue to recover. The Cuff adjusts to fit ankle or wrist. The velcro strap keeps the weight in place during exercises. These are available in 1, 1.5, and 2 lb and in 1 pound increments thereafter.
Perfect ankle weights. I have used these in physical therapy and wanted some weights to continue at home. They are worth the money because the cheaper ones just don't work.
this is what I ordered for physical therapy.
This brand makes great weights, but I recommend using multiple of a lighter weight. 20lbs is very awkward to work with when trying to tie it on your ankle. Stacking smaller ones works better since they are easier to handle. Again, this brand is great - one wide strap is much easier to work with than 2 small ones - but don't go past 15lbs in a single weight for your sanity.
You should be sure to say that there is only 1 of these in a order. I thought I was getting a set. Be pretty much non productive to only use 1 weight on 1 ankle or wrist. Produce looks fine, description is not detailed enough
what i do not like is that i have two ankles. the description says "weight(s)"; which means you get 2. I got 1. Weight(s) means you are getting a pair since the plural use of the word (in the english language) means 2. now i have to physically go to the store to make a return; when i actually would otherwise be pleased with the item if I had only 1 ankle.
i only received one and need two please send another,,please, can't use one without the otheŕ, just out. of rehab and these are very important, i cant walk till use them both, thankyou!!!!
