ThermoPro Analog Candy Thermometer & Deep Fry Oil Thermometer with Pot Clip, Waterproof for Candy Making & Deep Frying - GT311

This thermometer does not use batteries and no need of turning on for the display to be visible. The intended use is for maintaining temperature of water during meal prep on meats. I will be testing the method of stove top "poor man" style of sous vide for roasts and steaks with the slow and low temp method. No smoke or overheating the kitchen is my goal.

Have purchased twice. They're used for an industrial high temp type boiling during harvest time and have withstood the intensity we've put them through. I do think they're priced too high but I guess everything is nowadays with the current political climate we're dealing with.

Years ago I learned from a cookbook if you want to make the chocolate fudge your mom made you need two things besides the ingredients: a wooden spoon and a candy thermometer. I had a candy thermometer but it got lost in my recent move. So had to get a new one! This one fits the need. I have made fudge three times now and this thermometer keeps me from having to test to see if the mixture has reached the soft ball or hard ball stage.

I bought this fo my daughter and one for granddaughter because they were borrowing my round glass one. This one they can alo use when deep frying. They love this one. Candy making and deep frying!

this is a really good candy thermometer or use it for all kinds of things fudge, apples candy apples Christmas candy etc

Light weight and very durable . Handle is comfortable to carry when full. Hold ice for the good portion of the day in hot weather .

this candy thermometer is made out of stainless steel is very sturdy and I think it will last a long time

Sturdy and hooks to side of pot. Tip cannot touch bottom of pot due to metal being longer than thermometer - which is a good thing. However for the recipe I was making this meant the thermometer couldn't reach the liquid. The liquid needed to be at least 1" deep to reach the thermometer.

I'm not impressed with the air bubbles in the thermometer itself. It's hard to gauge the temperature and a lot of times it goes over the temperature I'm looking for because of the bubble

Much bigger than expected but will fit in any pot. Clip may not work for every pan but is convenient.
