I was pleasantly surprised by the adjustable feature and sharpness of the blade. I also love that the vegetables drop into a very generous container. Rubber pads on the bottom keep the slicer safe and in place. All blades are stored in the container. Has features that more expendive units dont offer.
Love this thing. Different blades, graters come in handy. Guard is helpful to prevent cutting your fingers. It's easy to use, store, wash and change the different blades. Happy with my purchase. Also cute with the gold glitter which I was not expecting on the clear container.
Literally sliced off the tip of my finger last night while cutting up a red onion. I made the *stupid* decision of using my bare hand (instead of the nifty and incredible hand guard attachment) to hold my onion during slicing. In one swift glide I felt intense stinging, only to look at my finger and realize 1/8 of the tip was no longer attached. The blade is so incredible sharp that it cleanly cut the tip of my finger off into the holding container (yes we did dispose of the finger tip). 10/10 for blade sharpness, 0/10 for slicing off your pointer finger. I still love my product and will without a doubt use it daily. I recommend this product 100%. I also recommend using the hand guard every time you slice, no matter just how skilled you think you might be. This mandoline is still one of my favorite kitchen gadgets and as my friend Emily told me “vegetables don't stand a change”. Apparently, neither does my finger.
It's very sturdy and has a catch all Sparkling Tray! It also has an adjustable blade that has 4 different thickness.
I really like the container that holes your processed vegetables. The guard helps keep your fingers safe. It cleans up really easily, but I hand wash.
Product works well, inline with some higher end equipment brands. I would purchase again. Change the material of the reservoir bin, or get rid of it altogether and put the unit on a collapsable stand.
Overall it's a good value and it gets the job done. I think the lid could be more secure so it's locked in place for a tight seal. I used it to slide up a head of cabbage and the container was very small for this. I had to stop and empty it several times. It's pretty easy to clean and I like the variety of blades and the fact they are stored in the container.
Works great and I love that you can adjust the thickness of what you're slicing. However, the interchangeable part sometimes slips off while in use unless you hold it into place or sit it against something sturdy.
At first it's hard to figure out how to remove and add the different attachments because there is no instructions with it. I thought I was going to slice myself trying to remove the blade. It would be nice if it came with a blade cover. The grater part is mehhhh... It is decent for the price but will be looking into another one with chopper attachment.
I don't like that the largest setting is so extremely thin. The unit moves a lot while trying to slice. Otherwise, I'm going to use it a lot, but I know more, now, to look for when I shop for a new one!
