Tru Grit Fitness 5lb Black Rubber Hex Dumbbell, Pair

I received the Tru Grit 20LB Hex Dumbbell in exchange for a fair and impartial review. These dumbbells were used by my husband and myself. He's a pro compared to me as I'm just learning. The handle on the dumbbells (see pic) is certainly long enough for the average size male hand. The metal handle has cross cuts in it to provide for a better grip. The weights have a rubber coating and that offers a little protection on a tile or wood floor. The hexagon shape means you can do additional exercises (see pic) besides just working your arm muscles. My husband has used them 3x a day for over a week. I've used them once a day for over a week. We both agree the Tru Grit 20LB Hex Dumbbells have no down side. These dumbbells are meant to last a very long time.

Matched the set I bought on Amazon last year. Chrome handle and black rubber ends. Everyone else wanted $50 each plus shipping. Walmart was $30 each with free shipping. Only problem was the second one arrived a week after the first one. No big deal.

I really love these weights for personal workouts. The price is very reasonable but the design is what I like best. The ribbed grip is very comfortable. The hex shape keeps the weights where you put them---no rolling around. The rubber coating is easy on all surfaces. Overall it appears these will last a long time.

Everything about these is great; nice looking set, rubber encased so no annoying sounds and perfect size at very affordable price. I have no complains with these using every morning. I’d like the rubber grip but since they’re only 20LB that’s no need.

I'm a 64 year old lady. I wanted 5lb or less dumbbells to work my arms, chest etc. At an excellent price of 7.50 for a pair of dumbbells, 5 pounds each, I simply couldn't say no. Boy, was I surprised when they arrived a day quicker than stated. They're not knock- offs. These are excellent quality dumbbells that will probably outlive me! I would definitely recommend these.

These hex dumbells are great, they've been very helpful in my goal of getting more physically fit. They're 20lbs each, coated in rubber in case you drop them - the dent in your floor will be less. Unless you have concrete floors, then you might even avoid a crack! The grips are pretty decent, but if using them for a while I find that it hurts my hands a little, and they gain the pattern of the grips in my skin.

They have a strong chemical smell. I’m hoping they air out but I’ve had them a few days now waiting to see if it goes away, as of yet they still stink. May end up returning them. Great price for a set but I guess you get what you pay for. I’m hoping the usual California Prop warning isn’t in regards to whatever odor is coming off of them.

The 25lb Dumbbells I ordered were Tru Grit brand and had Tru Grit brand in the picture. Received Tru Grit box but dumbbells seem counterfeit. Don’t have the Tru Grit seal shown in the photo. Compared to real Tru Grit Dumbbells in the photo I provided you can see the 25 lb ones are not that brand. Deceptive fake product. Thanks?

The first few are sold as pair, as in both dumbbells. Then in the middle of the weight selection it changes to single. So if you’re exclusively looking for a pair of dumbbells and you click the item that said PAIR you would expect to be selecting a PAIR of 25lb dumbbells (because who selects the pair option and expects it to stop being pairs at weights above 15lbs, if I had intended to buy a single I would have selected single to begin with)
