Uncle Miltons Giant Ant Farm. I never really thought about owning ant's before. But then I never had a farm to put them in. This ant farm is pretty cool. I can now view ant's in a way I got to see before. Not only do the ant,s work. They also spend time playing and grooming. I also get see there under ground living habits. So this ant farm kit is also a teaching tool. That I'm glad I have the chance to learn from. The ant farm kit comes with. The farm with background. Sand, A fine plastic long sick for making ant trails in the sand. A connecting tube for the ants to travel between farms in the event you would like to add another ant farm. The set up of the ant farm is very easy with the instructions provided with the kit. Basically pour in the sand and add water till the sand is moist. Not soggy. Feeding and watering is also very easy. For there water, Just keep the sand moist with a few drops of water every two days. For solid food Ant's will eat anything. Just give them bread or plant/vegetable slices. Of fruit slices Once per week. The ant's will not come with the farm. There's instructions inside the kit. That will explain how to order the ant's. The ants are free on your first order with the kit. Then there is a six dollar shipping fee. To get the ant's to your home. For me. After ordering the ant's. I got them about a week to a week and and a half later in the mail. From USPS.

This is a nice little Ant Farm. We followed all of the instructions and the little vials of ants arrived in the mail. The plastic is pretty clear, I'd give the clarity a 7 out of 10 with 10 being clear glass. You can see the ants working and doing their thing as they construct tunnels. They also pile up their dead in little sand-cells which is an interesting conversation to have about how long ants live and what ants do with their dead. Very easy to setup, add water, then add the ants when they arrive by mail - there is a coupon in the kit for you to order ants online. The price of ants is included, but you will have to pay shipping. Easy to feed through the top, the ants don't seem interested in climbing up to the cover so that's easy to drip water in or food for the ants. Live ants on a shelf, definitely educational and entertaining. The farm scene at the top is only one sided, the back is plain. I highly recommend this Ant Farm!

This was easy to set up. Everything you need is included with clear instructions. You are given more than enough material. I'm not sure what the standard size is since this is “large” but I feel like there is a lot of room in this bad boy. I didn't realize the company sends you ants by mail lol. I was wondering how I get ants... I'm an adult and I actually love this. Low maintenance pets. Fun to watch. I'm sure kids could appreciate it too, but just saying adults love it.

I figured my son would love this ant farm. You purchase ants on their website, paying shipping, and wait for them to arrive. My son enjoyed his Ant Farm - Giant Version - Uncle Milton Scientific Educational Toy however it was difficult to get the ants inside the enclosure. I would suggest putting them in outside. So far, he's enjoying it.

This toy came with easy to put together directions and a web address And voucher to order two vials of ants. All you have to do for assembly is to take off the top, use a funnel To put in the included sand, and put the top back On. Then order the ants. My review is a little late because ants can only be shipped if the temperature is between 32 And 85 degrees. In Florida there are few days lower than 85 degrees. After 2 and a half weeks I received my ants, all healthy. I removed the top and tapped the vial to put them in. I added The included food and 3 drops of water and put the lid back on. The ants went to town digging, Creating burrows and hills. Awesome to watch. This is so easy and so much fun. Easy pets to have. Just feed and water every few days.

This Ant Farm - Giant Version - Uncle Milton Scientific Educational Toy is terrific. It is just the right size for the young hands and not at all bulky for them to move around. The base is set up in such a way that it can be turned with no problem. As you add accessories tunnels etc. you will probably want to be able to walk all the way around it so as not to move it. What a wonderful experience it is for them to watch those hard working critters! The display is totally set up except for adding the sand (2 bags included) and the ants that you have to send away for. We have not received them yet. It says to expect 2-5 weeks to get them so that will be exciting! I highly recommend this Ant Farm! It is a double winner. Fun and educational!

This is like the neatest thing ever to me. I got it for my 6 year old but secretly for myself as well. It has a big 12" viewing area and came with 2 bags of sand, a tool for tunneling, a connector tube, and directions. I even got an online code to buy the ants it needs (which are not included of course). It was easy to get it set up out the box and my daughter is already amazed by it and we havent even gotten our ants for it yet. We are so excited to get to see those little guys in action! I believe this is just an awesome project/ gift idea.

Watching the ants building their tunnels can be so calming. There are tubes so making placing the ants in the farm so much easier. It is easier if you place the ants in the frig for a couple of hours before placing them into the farm and using the tubes that come with the kits The kids have really enjoyed sitting and watching how active the ants become when you feed them. I found that you can add other ant farms to this set so that you can keep adding on and on as the colony grows. You do have to order the ants separately on line

These days kids are much into video games which don't challenge their minds for good. I had one of these but in a smaller version almost 30 years ago. This Ant farm is larger and therefore can accommodate a lot of ants. Currently I am still waiting for a shipment of 30 ants, food, water dropper and a magnifying glass. This is fairly well made and will contain the ants within without the worry of any getting loose. There is an ample amount of sand included but you must buy the ants etc for it. The ant farm is made in such a way that I can add other ones to it which will make an even bigger ant farm. This is a GREAT fun and educational learning device!
