This has been consistent for decades, old reliable, meant mostly for my family as the quintessential filling for deviled eggs. Deviled ham for deviled eggs, people. Those 1 star reviews that find it gross are not using it appropriately. Yes, it's salty, it has the consistency of cat food, but it is mainly meant as a filling, not as a cracker spread (unless of course you like that salty, fattiness as is). I don't think you can make those iconic deviled eggs without it. It will taste less salty and fatty once it's mixed with egg yolks, or mixed as a sandwich filling with chopped eggs, mayo and pickles. Or anything that mellows out the salt. I have mixed it into mashed potatoes to up their protein content, made for breakfast with poached eggs, added to bland soups and mixed with rice for stuffed peppers. It's always been a must for camping, up there with Spam. May be an acquired taste, but used properly, it has a place in every pantry. If you have an elderly or infirm person, it can be useful to increase protein when mixed into other soft foods, just make sure they can handle the salt. It's not something to eat daily.
many years ago my mother used this unusual ham its so good this way SPLIT a 1. english muffin and toast 2.spread generously with ham on each side 3.put a slice of tomato on top of ham 4.add shredded cheese or slice on top of tomato 5.broil til cheese melts i uused ( cheddar) OH ENJOY, now i have to make some !
It had been a long time, many years, since I had this product so I thought I would try it again. It made a delicious sandwich and brought back memories of my childhood when my mother drove us across country and we would stop and have these as sandwiches with some lettuce.
two pieces of bread a little mayonnaise and some deviled ham and a cold glass of whole milk and you're set for a light bite at night before you go to bed yummy
great fresh products at fair prices saving money spending less always staff willing to help out eager to steer you right foods fresh good for sandwiches other things Walmarts from my experiences I've had great success value that communications as well I'm keep going back foods always fresh and fits my budget
If not on your "prohibited" foods list this makes a good sandwich on thick sliced toast-- the bread gives you good carbohydrates and the meat is a shade high on fat, but it works and is filling-- regular bread is not nearly as good as thick slicce "Texas" toast slices.
A childhood favorite. I hadn't had this in years and recently decided to give it another try. Still the taste I enjoyed as a child. I just wish it was available in a smaller size can. Yes, this is small, but it is still too much for one sandwich, and I don't like to eat this after it has been in the refrigerator.
Never had this before. I usually buy ham spread from the deli which is good. I was slightly disappointed in the taste and texture. Not as good as deli but handy to have on hand when you want a quick sandwich.
Okay, this is a throwback to the 1950's, a staple for the pantry in case of dire emergency. It is a spread that can be used on bread, toast, crackers, even celery. It is a somewhat gritty ham spread with lots of salt, I bought this during COVID's early days as the grocery shelves were emptying. It is very shelf-stable, like for years. I can't say what its nutritional value is, no idea. But, as a child from the '50's I remember it well.
I thought I would try it and see how it tasted, well now I know I don't like it.... now that being said, now you should try it you might like it, and how can somebody rate food for somebody else, so don't go by my 1star rating, Ciao for now
