works great
This is so much fun. You do need to read the instructions carefully and practice. It's like sharpening pencil. It's not for every vegetable or fruit. Works for me!
the idea is great, but the structure is not as functional.
I GIVE THIS VASTA SHEET SLICER A 0 RATING!!! It is absolutely terrible, destroys the vegetable inserted and in no way will slice a product. I also saw on a YouTube video a rating exactly like mine and she showed what happens when you insert a vegetable; saw this after I tried my own. Don't waste any money on this PIECE OF CRAP!!!!
bought this item to create sheets of zucchini. does not work. i managed to slightly peel a zucchini. total waste of money
Love the idea- but this thing does not work. The centers of most squashes are quickly destroyed by the skewer rod, making them just spin around with no contact with the cutting blade. This might work with a very hard fruit or vegetable, but it does not work with zucchini, summer squash, etc. I'm returning it.
Didn't work! My husband and I both tried it and it didn't work.
Do not buy this junk of garbage. The tiny prongs meant to hold the vegitables in place while you spin it will only tear the vegitables up from the inside. Absolutely useless!
The concept is great but this should never have made it off the drawing board. Maximum diameter for a piece of fruit/veggie is 3" and you insert it into the slicer the turning handle has 1/2" wide prongs that pierce one end. Instructions tell you to press down on the cutting tool as you turn the handle in order to start cutting into the vegetable to make the sheet however the only thing that turns is the handle inside the one end (since its much softer than exterior) turning the end into mush. I'm one of those wierd people who actually read directions before using a tool There simply is no way to get the Vasta to function in any useful way. One of the few times I wish there was an option to give negative stars to an item.
I was so excited to try out my new kitchen toy to make a zucchini lasagna. The instructions were super easy to follow, and the parts easy to assemble. Unfortunately, the plastic is very soft and seemed like it could snap at any given point, and the blade was very bad quality. I tried to give it the first turn and the whole zucchini just got stuck in the blade and when I tried turning just a little harder, the zucchini actually broke apart.. and it was soft! The concept is great, just bad design and bad quality... I almost seriously cut myself when attempting to get it to turn better. I will stick to my Zyliss mandolin which never fails me. Thank you but no thank you.
