Very nice compact grill. I placed it on a small table on our outdoor baloney. It would work for tailgating but for just 4 persons. I like the venting system that helps control the heat. I have found it takes more charcoal than what the booklet suggested. So far I've grilled chicken, steak, and rack of lamb and all turned out great. I have owned and still own a number of Weber products that have not disappointed.
I had like 20 years without starting a fire in a charcoal grill, I saved the day for my father's 77 birthday, and I found the perfect opportunity to use it for the first time, I bought enough meat to feed an army of 7 carnivores, I started the fire and with proper time it was ready to grill, I grilled arrachera, New york strips and rib eye, the timing, the temperature, and the duration o the grill was great, I had a great experience with it, it was so easy to clean and I will use it again this weekend and the more to come while staying at home. Its so practical, it fitted in the back of my car seat and it gave an authentic grilled taste like in a pro grill... this is so small but useful, practical and powerful. I totally recommend it, just watch out where you put it, because it get very very hot beneath the grill. Great, loved it!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought the Go-Anywhere to use camping and for day trips to the beach this spring. We have a gas travel BBQ but prefer the added flavour charcoal adds and enjoy the experience of cooking on a charcoal grill. The quality is what you expect from Weber but the design of this BBQ is really quite impressive! Its built of higher quality materials then needed in a portable BBQ without unreasonable weight, with a porcelain coated steel firebox and lid, a thicker gauge steel charcoal grate and cooking grill than is more everyday than light duty. Set up instructions are clear and takes about 10 minutes including opening and unpacking of the well packed box. You just install the handle covers, legs and drop in the grates and it's ready to go. The lid has ingenious hooks on it so the lid hangs on the sides when checking your food, and doubles as a wind screen - a very useful feature! The next thing is the legs. Once opened and clipped together, they are sturdy and provide good clearance to the table. Unclip the steel legs and they to fold up and over the lid, locking the BBQ securely together for transportation. It's another very useful feature! The rectangular design is easy to pack. The vents on any charcoal grill are extremely important for the use of the grill for temperature control and different cooking. On the lid, there are two vents, one on each side. On the firebox, there are two sliding vents that run the long length of the grill, one on each side. These are a great design feature. They can be opened/closed at either end for amazing versatility. It allows you to grill and even quick smoke with this “portable” BBQ! We did smokey bbq pork back ribs camping a few weeks ago, which was really impressive with this grill! First few cooks, we lit the charcoal without a chimney while camping - all natural only. While it works okay just as it does with the larger kettle bbqs, it takes more time. Weber makes a compact size chimney we bought last month that really speeds up the charcoal prep time that I'd highly recommend using it if time is short. I'm usually pretty quick to find a fault but this BBQ checks all the boxes for us - quality and design at a reasonable price. Upon using it, it is the perfect portable BBQ for camping and day trips. If you are new or pro at charcoal grilling, this a great travel grill. The learning curve will be quick for the new charcoaler as there isn't too much to manage on a simple design, but with the features a seasoned charcoal griller will make great use of too!
I bought this grill to use in my RV. It's great a perfect size to fit in the storage compartment . The top locks down to keep everything together . It is built with the Weber quality and warrant that I have enjoyed with other Weber products.
Little powerhouse grill! The possibilities are endless with this grill. Truly portable, I was able to kick up some delicious, slow and smoke BBQ ribs at a friend's birthday party, host a picnic family day with cheeseburgers and hot dogs, and toast s'mores at our backyard during a summer dinner. I love this and the quality of this grill is top notch. Can't go wrong with a Weber product!
Well built. Quality paint job. Excellent air control. Grill can extinguish charcoal.
This is an amazing little grill. The design makes it easy to store, use, and transport. You can literally pack everything you need in the grill. The dual vents on top makes it really great for indirect cooking. I also find it very convenient that the lid hooks to the body when opening the grill. I've cooked everything from burgers and hotdogs, to ribs, briskets, and pork belly. Great little tool to add some charcoal grilling to your arsenal.
It appears to be a well built unit. I like the divider for indirect grilling. Combination Handle/legs are a nice feature.
Love this grill.. small enough to carry in our camper and we love having bbq.. used to have one it wore out after years so when looking for a lil grill I saw this one and knew it is the best! We missed out other one
Great little grill that was purchased for camping. Well designed. I start charcoal in a chimney starter and not thinking I started a regular sized grill worth of charcoal. I'll know better next time.
