Great pan. Thanks
I swear by all Wilton pans. I particularly love this pan. I bake so many cookies at a time that I have five of them. It cuts down on baking time tremendously because it holds so many. It heats evenly and my cookies bake well on them. I have bought them for my nieces and they love them. I have recommended it to others and they have purchased them also. They raved about how great they are.
I bought this pan at Michaels and it works perfectly for me. Because it is a dark pan you have to turn the temperature down 25 degrees. I do keep a thermometer in my oven also. I own a cookie business so the more cookies I can bake at once the better! I wish they them without the non stick coating. I use parchment paper.
I bought this before Christmas to use in my annual cookie making marathon. What a dream to use. I lined it with parchment and went to town. It handled up to 24 cookies at a time easily. No problem with over heating or burning. I do keep an oven thermometer in my oven at all times. It's easy to control the heat that way. I loved it so much I bought a second one. The only drawback for me is the weight. I have to use 2 hands or it wobbles precariously.
I bought two cookie pans about a year ago to cut down on my baking time. I will not use any other cookie pans. My cookies come out perfect on this oversized pan although I do use parchment paper. Thank you Wilton for this mega cookie pan.
This pan fit so well in my oven, the wire racks are actually optional. It missed the extra star because there isn't a 14-1/2" x 19-1/2" cooling rack to fit it. Baking two dozen cookies at time greatly increases cooking speed. To those who panned it for burning their cookies, I feel for you. Moving from a dual layer insulated sheet caused me to burn my first batch. I then spent the next couple hours doing 3 cookie "test batches" to dial in the time and temperature. (BTW: I got 315degF/10mins, and the thermometer showed that my oven runs 50 degF hotter than the set point.)
I agree with Katie, I bought this pan for the size and "perfect results"....so far it has just burnt the bottoms of my Christmas baking! I've turned down my oven as well as placed another old cookie sheet on the rack below and still awful results. Wasted money buying this as well as all of the expensive ingredients gone in the trash because of this!!
I bought this because of the size since I was planning on making lots of Christmas cookies. I ended up having to throw away 3 batches of cookies because they came out completely black on the bottom. I even tried remaking a batch of dough and lining the pan with parchment paper, just to have them burn again. I went back to using my crummy old baking sheet and the cookies turned out perfectly. Such of waste of money I spent on ingredients and time making the cookies.
I can't comment on the value, materials, etc. because I never got to use it because it was delivered damaged. I was told to return it to the nearest FedEx facility which is a 50 mile drive! It took over an hour to "chat" online with an "expert" so I could return it to the local Walmart. This is ridiculous! Walmart should work out some serious kinks in their systems and delivery standards. I now wish I'd not paid in full for the Walmart .
I bought this a while ago because I really liked the size and respected wilton as a brand, but every time that I bake with it it burns all the cookies! If it cooked them well I would have given it 5 stars.
