This thing is awesome! Wish I would have had one of these a long time ago. You can stand clear across the room and scoop the litter, no bending necessary. lol. The handle extension screws off, if you do want a shorter scooper. It is super sturdy and well made. Everyone should have one

This is the best scoop I've ever had, and wish I'd discovered it earlier. Not only does the long handle keep your hands further from the soiled litter, it also allows for cleaning the litter box without bending over so it's perfect for disabled indivudials like myself. I can actually sit and clean the litter box without bending over which helps with both my vertigo issues and my joint pain when I need to bend. The wide diameter padded grips on the handle are also perfect for those who have strength and mobility issues with their hands.

It helped a great deal because I cannot bend over due to my disability so I was able to use a chair and use the scoop. The grip was decent but occasionally came loose on the connection. Otherwise the sturdiness of it paired with the scooping was a godsend. It was even sturdy enough to break the rock like clumps of clay cat litter that was accidentally used instead of our normal crystal cat litter.

Its great. I was really surprised to find that the metal is thick enough to be completely sturdy, The pole is also strong and sturdy. It dissent bend and the threaded connections are strong. The holes sift the sand great. It's really convenient that the item can be used as a short scooper without the handle and a long scooper with the longer handle screwed on. It is clear that this item is strong durable, probably wont break and will last for a really long time. For once, I finally got a product that isn't cheap and flimsy, Thank you, Yangbaga!

I run a cat sanctuary basically. I have 22 cats and I scoop litter twice a day. If you have a multi-cat household, this might be just the thing for you because it increases the distance you have to be to the dust that kicks up. If you're someone with only one or two cats, you won't know what I'm talking about. If you scoop several boxes a day, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The actual scoop part is identical to the heavy duty scoops I already used so that was nice. It's perfect for clumping litter. The pictures make it hard to tell just how long it is but just imagine that your scoop is now a miniature shovel (and I sometimes use it like its a shovel while scooping too). So if you have boxes that are in tight spaces without much clearance, this won't work so well for you. I don't remember if the listing stated how long this thing is but I think did. Either way, I think its length is about 2.5 feet long or so. The metal on the scoop and handle bar is solid. It's sturdy. The scoop probably wont survive (just like all heavy duty scoops) if you bang it against hard objects to clean it of debris but that's not how you're supposed to clean/handle it anyway.

We love this litter scoop, and wish we would've bought one years ago! My husband and I both have bad backs, and our daughter hates to breath the dust while scooping, so we all appreciate the long handle. My only suggestion would be, to get rid of the foam handle, and have it be plain metal, so it's easily cleanable. But either way, I absolutely love this scooper!!! I would definitely not suggest this for cleaning a chicken coop though. I've had both chickens and ducks, and would only use a regular rake, either flexible or hard teeth, to clean their coops. This is awesome for cat boxes, not chicken coops.

I highly recommend this scoop.. I use high quantity litter.. and I actually bought this just for the longer handle.. but my smaller plastic scoops I have now and others i have had over the years would often break up the clumps during removal.. and I find this scoop having no flex when it scraps the pan breaks them free and picks them up intact way more often then my old scoop.. I have only had this about a month.. so I gave it only 4 stars.. because I don't know how it will work over time.. but it looks promising.. also the handle can be shortened as the one pc can be removed..

This is what I was looking for to help me clean the litter boxes. It helps with my not having to bend down as much. The handle is sturdy and wet litter doesn't stick in the pan. My only complaint is that the slats are too far apart and doesn't collect small clumps of litter like my short handled scooper does. If the manufacturer was to make that improvement, I would buy again

I do recommend for those of us who have lower back issues. It seems sturdy enough but the holes in sifter are too wide and the handle could be longer for taller people (I am 5'11"). I only use it when experiencing back pain but have a regular size metal sifter that works better.

I had surgery and could not lean over to do the litter box. Sitting on a chair this worked great without the extension on the handle. But I think it would work fine standing if you put the extension on but I think it would work fine standing if you put the extension on.
