Great Value Less Sodium Soy Sauce is an important part of my effort to save money. I use this soy sauce from time to time to put an Asian spin on stir fry vegetables or on rice, but the main way I use it is to elevate inexpensive beef. Have you seen the price of chuck roast?! Instead, take about 6 ounces of a cheap cut of beef, cut it up and marinate it for a few hours in the refrigerator in a mix of two TBLSP each of the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Then saute the pink out of the meat and mix it in with a heated up can of Low Sodium Dinty Moore Beef Stew. It makes an inexpensive, hearty and delicious stew that is great alone or served on noodles, rice or toast. I also add the soy sauce plus Worcestershire marinade to ground turkey or chicken in lieu of ground beef for burgers or any ground beef dish. It is cheaper and results in a lower-calorie, lower-fat alternative, better for weight management.
This is usually my go-to less sodium soy sauce but I was at a different store when I needed more so I bought La Choy less sodium...big mistake: -LaChoy had 660mg of sodium/1 Tbsp vs GV 570mg of sodium/1 Tbsp -LaChoy ingredients: water, corn syrup, hydrolyzed soy protein, caramel color, potassium chloride, salt, lactic acid, potassium sorbate (preservative) GV ingredients: soy sauce (water, wheat, soybean, salt), lactic acid, sodium benzoate (preservative) if you can't eat gluten, then GV is not for you, but the ingredients and salt content seem better compared to the name brand and the flavor is much better.
The Great Value Less Sodium Soy Sauce proves that flavor doesn’t need full salt to be bold, deep, and absolutely addictive. Each drop carries that rich, savory umami punch — balanced, mellow, and perfect for dipping, drizzling, or wok-tossing magic. It’s smooth but powerful, coating rice, noodles, and veggies with that irresistible soy depth while keeping things lighter and healthier. At 15 fl oz, it’s the perfect kitchen companion — budget-friendly yet tasting like a top-shelf import. ✅ Pros: Deep umami with reduced sodium Versatile for cooking or seasoning Excellent flavor-to-price ratio ❌ Cons: You’ll start putting it on everything ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Less sodium, more soul. 🥢🔥
I have used this low sodium soy sauce twice now. I am very pleased with it! I am not missing any taste at all. If you are making Asian recipes, you know that there is plenty of salty components in the recipes. You do not need extra sodium in your soy sauce. I highly recommend this product.
I have to watch my sodium. It taste great. It tastes less salty which I like because I always felt like Soy Sauce was too salty. It is a great buy and just as tasty as the expensive brands. I will never use a different brand but stick with this!!
I love the fact that there is a low sodium option. And this did not take away from the taste. I was able to still make my lo mein taste just as yummy with this low sodium as the regular soy sauce. Glad I am able to taylor my recipes now in a healthier manner and not sacrifice taste. It was also a good value, will get the bigger one now that I know it's good.
Very tasty! Can’t go wrong with this one. As someone else posted in their review, low sodium soy sauce, used to turn me off. It didn’t have much flavor, but this one is much different. I definitely recommend you give it a try.
good price always buy this and have it in the fridge because I like to make a lot of homemade Chinese food now and of course you're always going to need soy sauce and I like how they have a low sodium version because I try to watch how much salt I'm putting into all the stuff I'm cooking to watch for high blood pressure so that's good to have that option and this tastes just like every other soy sauce out there so it's great to have for a good price
Great Value soy sauce may be less sodium, but it's still very salty. Watch out for that when using it. But it's a must have. For Asian as well as American food. You'll find all kinds of uses for it. Try a few dashes in your B.B.Q. sauce. The flavor is incredible.
if u prefer mild soy sauce like the stuff that most chinese food places gives ya in handfuls of clear packets this is the same taste. taste is somewhere in between the brown water super generic soy sauce and the strong kikkoman soy sauce thats better for sushi. i prefer this on rice. will stop buying bulk packets online and stick with this. cheap tastes good and pours easy. but is definitely not strong soy sauce taste if ya want that buy the kikkoman.
