Love this bike so far. I haven't ridden in years and this bike makes it easy and fun
This bike has a much more comfortable seat than the 98$ version. It's also got disc brakes that stop more abruptly than the line brakes. The seat alone is worth the extra cash. My daughter's bike seat is terribly uncomfortable. And seats are 20-30$. So I'd rather pay the extra money. Also it's 27.5” tires, my daughters is 26”. The extra 1 1/2” is much needed if you are closer to 5'10”. I'm roughly 5'11” so my knees didn't keep coming close to my chest when I paddled like they did with the shorter bike. It was not hard to put together, but the instructions were not very helpful. It's based on ‘this model' or ‘ that model' and neither seemed like the right one. So I just figured it out on my own. It's disc brakes so u don't do anything to put the tire on, but the instructions aren't clear on that. But overall it's a nice bike. Bigger wider tires too.
The bike is EXACTLY what i was looking for. My only issue is that the front wheel and axle were damaged during shipping, so I had to return it. I ordered another, so my fingers are crossed. It needs to be packaged better, because UPS, FedEx, and USPS are NOT gentle with packages!! A little cardboard or foam packed in strategic places would've prevented the damage.
I keep on having to work on the bike, (the front tire and the breaks) the tires started getting cracky when the bicycle was still new. In absence of these problems it would be a great, especially because of the high speed and the good balance it has.
It's okay at best. one wheels came bent which is noticeable when riding it and the handlebars don't tighten down very good. Wish they would raise but they don't.
the ride was smooth except after 2 blocks the chain popped off. after stopping and replacing the chain, the gears kept clicking and getting stuck after every 5-7 clicks. the left gear shift was stuck between 2½ and 3 and could never advance to 3. then going up hill, the pedals wouldn't turn at all, standing up to pedal didn't change this. i almost got hit by a car twice just on this first and only ride. i returned it to the store even though i purchased it online. i told them this bike can't be resold and the person said it will not be resold. i ignored all the bad reviews and purchased this bike. after walking the bike home, i sat down and re-read the bad reviews. every review complaining about the chain, gear shifters, and the gears was 100% what i experienced. some people didn't have problems with this bike, but i would say you have a 50/50 chance of a lovely bike or a pretty lemon.
I ordered two bikes and they both arrived damaged. I would not recommend using walmart to order something expensive.
I received it without the chain. So it was missing parts. They gave me the bike opened, without original packaging from the sales floor. When asking customer service to help me get the missing chain, they told me no, to just return it as damaged/missing parts.
Purchased this bike and was delivered May 15th. Easy enough to assemble. Brakes needed adjustment which I did according to owners manual. First ride gears didn't work properly. Front derailleur rubbing chain on each sprocket. Rear derailleur kept trying to jump gears. Decided to take it to local bike shop so gears were adjusted properly. Rode the bike once each day for 5 miles on paved streets, no inclines, no trail riding. I had back surgery and bought this to help with my rehab so there was no heavy riding with this bike. Today, July 13th went for my morning ride, halfway around the block there's a clunking, grinding noise. Rode back home and looked the bike over to try and find the issue. Noticed some metal shavings on rear derailleur side of rear sprocket. Took to local bike shop yet again. He showed me the problem. The ball bearings in the race of the rear gear sprockets had fallen out. He said he could replace but it's not worth it. This bike is a sad disappointment. Less than 2 months of easy riding and now it's junk. For the price I had no expectations of a high end mountain bike, but this is very poor quality.
Horrible bike. AND I had to put most of it together. Ridiculous! So disappointed!!!
