I Love This Combination Parmesan %26 Romano Tomato Based Pasta Sauce! I Prefer The Taste Of Tomato Based Pasta Sauces. I Love Cheddar Cheese Sauces! I Don't Like Alfredo Sauce In or From Amy Brand, Company or Manufacturer At ALL Even Though It Is Parmesan %26 Romano (Maybe It's The Other Seasonings They Use That I Don't Like or Love).
Simple, pronounceable ingredients in an affordable ORGANIC tomato sauce. What's not to LOVE?!! 👍 We enjoy all the varieties of this sauce and appreciate the flavors and the value of the product.
This sauce tastes good. That's it....really good! The reviewer who compared this sauce to Ragu is...well...incorrect. It has a wonderful, strong tomato flavor, and enough Parmesan to recognize the flavor without it overpowering the wonderful, organic tomato taste. I add a little organic Italian herbs, and a little Real Salt and a pinch of organic pepper (available at Walmart.com) and simmer it for a bit, and it's really, really good! The last time I used this sauce, I made some tiny Italian meatballs with grass fed burger and organic bread crumbs, and simmered them in this sauce for a good while. Several of my family members enjoyed the heck out of the spaghetti and meatballs I made with this sauce! And at this low, low price...for organic...and it tastes good....why would you look for anything else? I can make an organic sauce like this, if you give me all day to blanche, and chop, and simmer and stir... but why? It's under 2 bucks for organic, and it's good... I'm picking this up and going to see a show instead of standing in a hot kitchen!
Best organic sauce for the price.
best flavor
I'm older and can't be bothered making homemade spaghetti sauce any more. So I buy this brand of organic sauce, which has a good taste and add whatever veggies I want to it. Many people don't like mushrooms (mostly because of look or texture) but you love the taste? Cook the shrooms and blend them with a little of the sauce and add to your sauce. You get the taste but not the looks. But make sure it is totally blended. Many years ago before there was an "organic" craze, a piece of the cap underside didn't get totally blended and, of course, my son, who hates mushrooms, got the one piece. He picked it up and asked, "Mom, is this a crab lung?" I laughed and he figured out quickly it was a piece of mushroom and pushed the plate away. He asked and I admitted I blended it and must have missed a piece but had done that before and he never realized it and loved the sauce. To this day, 30 years later if we eat spaghetti and my son is there he asks did I put blended mushrooms in it. But he doesn't push his plate away if I say yes.
This stuff has an acidic and bitter taste, as though someone burned the garlic. Nothing fixes it. Not even a pinch of baking soda.
There are 2 different lists of ingredients to my surprise. Relying on the one in the online item description, I bought this sauce because it didn't list onions as an ingredient. Turns out this sauce has large chunks of onions in it. To be clear, my issue is with the website not giving the ingredients correctly- not the actual sauce. I'm allergic to onions so I can't eat it.
buyer beware - the last (2) jars I purchased had MOLD on the lids and around the inner and outer rims of both jars - absolutely disgusting. One jar has a Best if used bt date of Dec.20,2023, and the other jar has a best if used by date of Dec.24,2023... Normally this product would have received a 5 star rating because my family loves it so much, but this is a total turnoff... How safe is your food, Walmart?
Even though the the Best By date states 10/24/2023 on both jars I purchased, I had difficulty opening them. It turns out there was MOLD growing on the outside lip of the jar and the inside of the lid. VERY UNSAFE AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.
