my 9 year old son really enjoys playing with this magnet set

I bought this for my 9 year old son who loves STEM activities. He really enjoyed the set. I would definitely recommend!

My children and I had so much fun with this magnet kit. It has been a great tool for our homeschool science time. I love that the directions explain various projects that we can do with the multiple pieces that come in the set. My children had fun improvising with the circle magnets and the positive and negative ends to make repelling floating circles. It has very small screw nuts in the kit, that have already disappeared because they fell underneath the table somewhere. These pieces of the kit are very tiny and can be easily swallowed by a small child. For us, we use these to make a connecting bridge, that my five year old thought was amazing. The did like using the fish magnet to fish for the nuts, but there is only one stick and string, but multiple fish, so they were not able to do this part at the same time as each other. All my children are elementary aged from lower to upper and they all loved exploring with this kit and trying out different projects. We have yet to try to car and the boat, but those are next on our list. But by far, using the magnets to repel each other and move them around. This is a great introduction kit for playing with magnets, but I did wish that it had some information about magnets that my children could read about.

I thought it would have bigger magnets and more of them. It was a little under whelming for the kids.

I received the Magnet Science activity set. The instructions state that the kit is intended for children over 8 years of age. I recommend this set only to children that are interested in learning and listening. No matter what age, a fidgety, hyper kid will not like this kit at all. The items that are included in this set are, 1 magnet handle, 1 car/boat chassis, 4 wheels, 2 ring magnets, 1 short axle, 1 long axle, 2 super power bar magnets, 15 metal screw nuts, 1 roll of thread, 5 magnetic fish, 2 ring magnet joints, and 1 rod for fishing wand/yacht mast. The instructions have outlined 10 different things you can make with the parts provided. There are also some fun facts listed about magnets. This activity kit would be good for a small group of attentive children. Some places this kit may be used are, schools, bible school, daycare, after school. And, I would really recommend an adult supervise the activity.
