HATCH Green Chilis go great with everything!!! EVEN A SPOON. ;) Top your HORMEL tamales with this HATCH Green Chilis, and you will be pleasantly pleased and go back for more. Put the HATCH Green Chilis on your eggs and bacon. Spoon it onto your avocado toast. Got hotdogs? Yes, put it on your hotdog. ANYTHING you enjoy, HATCH Green Chilis in the jar will make your dinner that much more satisfying. HEALTHWISE HATCH Green Chilis and any other green chili are loaded with VITAMIN C. If you have a sore throat, eat some chilis. If you have a cold, heat up your soup and ADD HATCH Green Chilis. The chilis will bring comfort to your ailing body in the way of antioxidants and vitamin C.
505 hatch green chili sauce is such a versatile ingredient that can be used for every meal. This is the fire roasted version and it's the one I have to throw elbows to get when it's in stock. If it's available act fast!! One thing to know, once you open it, use it within a couple days because it molds fast. I freeze the leftovers in ice cube trays but honestly sometimes I just dump it into a freezer bag and freeze it flat.
I must have green chile and the 505 brand is from my home state of New Mexico. While it isn't the hot variety, it does satisfy my need. I use this on eggs, burritos, tacos, red spaghetti sauce, Green Chile Stew, etc. I would recommend this as a staple pantry item.
I generally prefer (home) frozen chilis to canned ones because I don't like the vinegary taste of the canned ones. That said, these Hatch bottled chilis are pretty good; not a strong vinegary taste, fewer peels than other brands, and the medium heat ones are pretty good. These larger jars are more cost effective than the small cans, as well. These are great to make green chili sauce, add to chili or posole, as well as smear on a hamburger.
Must be the HATCH Chilies... this is the best green chili I have ever had, Restaurants included. I've tried many others in the past but nothing compares and the spice is perfect. Love it , please keep it available at Walmart and local grocery stores. Thank you, Cindy
505 is the best for flavor because of the famous roasted chilies grown in Hatch, New Mexico.(505 is also the area code for New Mexico.) Harvest season for these chilies is when you can smell them roasting all around New Mexico and you know it is time to treat yourself. "Red or Green?" Is what you will hear when ordering your New Mexican meals.
I use this when I can't get fresh and it's outstanding for green Chile cheese Burgers or I use it to make enchilada sauce which I combine with cream of mushroom soup to make a green sauce. I also put it in ground beef to make burritos with with the sauce or just with the Gren chiles and some diced potatoes.
This stuff... oh! The jar is a great value compared to the little cans of green chilies. Taste is to die for. Good shelf life in the fridge for quite a while, though it tends to dry a little after a couple of weeks. Can use as little or as much as you want. Wish it came in a hot variety, as only mild to medium spicy.
I am pleased with the green chili product However, one of the 10 jars I ordered had a broken seal (the jar cap was dented), so the contents were spoiled and moldy. I was not pleased with the delivery of the product and the decreased value since 10% of my purchase had to be discarded.
The container arrived in good shape, but it wasn't what I thought I ordered. I wanted whole chilis and mild. This is a puree or something like a salsa. I'm sure I can find someone in my family who would love Hatch Chilis, but it is not what I can use. I don't know why I thought this was the right product.
